The Epic Games Store shares Ruiner and Nuclear Throne for free, with a retro treat coming up next week
Epic Games again honors the two gift games, but more than that, they look forward to the offer they have saved for next week.
You probably already get used to Epic Games distributing games every week for free, so you don't need special notifications for that. However, if you don't launch their launcher very often, our posts may be of use to you, so you might be interested in the launch of a new range of Nuclear Throne and Ruiner gift games.
The first game is a bird's eye view of the rougelike 2D shooter that may not attract you with its old-fashioned look, but high scores suggest that it is an extremely fun game. The ruiner is similar in design, just a bit more modern looking. His ratings are a little lower, but it should be borne in mind that the game has received some significant improvements since its release.
The offer will be a little poorer next week. We are waiting for one, but very valuable game - The Messenger from 2018. This is also a 2D retro style game, but this one is of high quality and was noted as one of the best 2D games last year.
Gun - long-range justice
To this day, exactly fourteen years ago, the creators of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater have left skateboarding to give us an interesting trip to the Wild West.
In the middle of the last decade, Rockstar still has not won the Western-themed video game industry. Although they had already released the Red Dead Revolver by now, in 2005, there was a game called Gun that overshadowed Rockstar's hit.
The Gun was credited to the Neversoft team, which previously dealt with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Spider-Man games. The Gun was their most ambitious project to date and sought to capitalize on the growing popularity of open-world games.
The game was set in 1880 in the areas of Colorado, Arizona, Kansas and New Mexico. Players took on the role of Colton White, ganging up on bandits, hunting animals, playing poker and the like.
Gun was played from two perspectives. Most of the game was played in third person, but when targeting, one could also get into first-person view, the so-called quick draw mode. There were also shots while riding, as well as sneaking and hitting opponents.
The Gun picked up great reviews upon its release, calling it a GTA game in the 19th century. Today, PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube versions could be played, while a few weeks later a version for the Xbox 360 console came out, which means Gun was one of the first games for the second generation of Xbox. In 2006, a portable version of Gun for PlayStation Portable followed.
Today, Gun can be found on sale on Steam and GOG.

Hitman 2 support is coming to an end soon, but the next game is already underway
Development studio IO Interactive has announced that it will release the latest major update to Hitman 2 this month.
Hitman 2 is about to fill its first year of existence and will receive more content this month than ever before. In total, the game will receive 10 new Contracts missions, 8 Escalation missions, 6 Challenge packages, five new items, two new costumes and a Legacy Elusive Target. Agent 47 will thus become a pirate - this is what happened.
It will also be a farewell to Hitman 2. Although the game will continue to receive new Contracts missions in 2020 and a renewed chance of completing Elusive Target missions, after the twelfth month the game will no longer receive significant new extensions. What's more, the update coming November 19 will be Hitman 2's last major patch.
After that, the team of IO Interactive turns to the future, more and more team members join the development of the next Hitman game, which they confirm has been in development for some time. According to what we have heard earlier, Hitman 3 could reuse the episodic format as the first part, primarily because it is not the only game the Danes have in development. They are also working on a brand new project for which they recently received financial support from Warner Bros. Interactive.
Sony has appointed a new president to oversee the work of its studios
After Shawn Layden, Shuhei Yoshida stepped down as Sony's head of worldwide development studies.
A month ago, Sony Interactive Entertainment lost its studio chairman, Shawn Layden. Now another Sony member, Shuhei Yoshida, has stepped down as president. He will be succeeded by Hermen Hulst, until recently president and co-founder of Guerrilla Games.
Unlike Layden who left Sony, Shuhei Yoshida will remain at Sony, but will oversee smaller projects and hire independent game creators to partner with Sony and possibly even indie developer acquisitions.
Guerrilla Games thus remains without its key member, dark during the development of the sequel Horizon: Zero Dawn. However, it is certain that Hermen Hulst will make a significant contribution to the work of all Sony studios around the world, including the studios he helped to found. Guerrilla Games will no longer have one president, but the studio will be jointly run by Angie Smets, Jan-Bart van Beek and Michiel van der Leeuw.
Interestingly, with this move, the two most important roles at Sony Interactive Entertainment have for the first time belonged to Europeans. Specifically, CEE President Jim Ryan was born in the UK while Hermen Hulst is Dutch. So far, Sony and Japan employees have been mostly in their positions, and this is a testament to how important the European market has become to the PlayStation brand.
Call of Duty - Call of Duty via Medal of Honor
To this day, exactly sixteen years ago, the first Call of Duty landed on Europe and began a very successful campaign.
Call of Duty recently celebrated its fifteenth birthday, but we will be celebrating this anniversary today, as Call of Duty first appeared on the European market today. Looking back 16 years, it is a little strange how different then Call of Duty was from what the series represents today. It was a single-player game that was primarily played in the shooter's cradle - on PC.
The origin of Call of Duty is credited with Infinity Ward, a studio founded just one year before the game's release, made up mostly of the team that made Electronic Arts an excellent Medal of Honor: Allied Assault for Electronic Arts. The makers of Call of Duty set out to make a shooter in which the player was part of a team instead of solving all the battles of WWII on his own.
To this end, they had to work on the artificial intelligence of fellow soldiers who guided the player through the game with their commands, and by their behavior contributed to a realistic depiction of war by hiding behind cover, saving each other and the like. In most missions, the game had a "replenishment" system that constantly sent new comrades when existing ones were killed, so that there would always be other soldiers next to the player. However, in the early version of the game this was not so yet, so if you played the demo version then you could kill your own team without penalty and be left almost alone on the battlefield.
Given that it was a PC exclusive that used the then-Tech Tech 3 launcher from the Quake III Arena, Call of Duty could portray World War II conflicts at an unprecedented level. For example, effects were added to the game to respond to nearby shell explosions (tinnitus, blurred vision, slow motion), the environment was devastating in some missions (tanks were treading trees), and dozens of characters could be found on screen all of a sudden.
The story of the first Call of Duty was divided into three campaigns: American, British and Soviet. Each had missions to remember, but the grand finale was reserved for the Soviet part where we participated in the Battle of Stalingrad (largely inspired by the movie Enemy at the Gates) and later marched to Berlin and cleared the Reichstag.
Call of Duty was one of the most notable games of 2003 and has won numerous awards. Next year, an expansion called United Offensive followed with new missions and expanded multiplayer. The original Call of Duty remained a PC exclusive for a good six years before Call of Duty: Classic appeared on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
Certainly, the Call of Duty series later became extremely popular and changed year after year with new ideas. However, what remained, and here we think of the very foundation, was present in most CoD titles.

Next month, we address the transportation challenges and issues in Transport Fever 2
In 1850, there were not too many transportation problems, but as the years went by, Transport Fever 2 would seek to create a transport empire via land, water and air.
All players who like to spend time connecting virtual cities and building transportation infrastructure and being a financial plus, will be able to do so in Transport Fever from December 11, 2019. and air, over 200 vehicles from Europe, America and Asia will welcome us in this sequel.
As with other similar managerial titles, apart from building a transportation empire, one will have to think about logistical problems dating back to 1850 and, of course, launching the economy to be in the financial plus. Along with the ability to play freely, there will also be three campaigns available that the development studio says can take as long as 20 hours before all tasks are completed.
In addition, we will be greeted with a realistic model of transportation and economics, as well as three climate environments, and those more creative players will be able to work their maps and other changes thanks to support for modifications that should round out the game.

The first IGI Origins trailer has arrived
Although the first rendering of the game does not give us a specific gameplay, through animations we can see what will come to us when we start with tactical action shooting.
Earlier this year, we got the announcement of IGI Origins, and now the first game preview has arrived. Admittedly, it's not a gameplay preview, it's animation, but we can get an impression of what the game will be like when the game is available in 2021, when the release date is set.
Otherwise, Origins will put us in the role of MI6 agent code-named Regent, with whom we will have to think about entering enemy installations and then escape to shoot. Just like in previous parts of the series, we will also have a diverse range of devices and weapons here to successfully complete missions around the world.
