Hitman 2 support is coming to an end soon, but the next game is already underway

Development studio IO Interactive has announced that it will release the latest major update to Hitman 2 this month.

Hitman 2 is about to fill its first year of existence and will receive more content this month than ever before. In total, the game will receive 10 new Contracts missions, 8 Escalation missions, 6 Challenge packages, five new items, two new costumes and a Legacy Elusive Target. Agent 47 will thus become a pirate - this is what happened.

It will also be a farewell to Hitman 2. Although the game will continue to receive new Contracts missions in 2020 and a renewed chance of completing Elusive Target missions, after the twelfth month the game will no longer receive significant new extensions. What's more, the update coming November 19 will be Hitman 2's last major patch.

After that, the team of IO Interactive turns to the future, more and more team members join the development of the next Hitman game, which they confirm has been in development for some time. According to what we have heard earlier, Hitman 3 could reuse the episodic format as the first part, primarily because it is not the only game the Danes have in development. They are also working on a brand new project for which they recently received financial support from Warner Bros. Interactive.
