The creators of the GTA series are expanding, the Rockstar Dundee has been formed

 Rockstar Games bought the studio responsible for the development of Crackdown 2 and renamed it Rockstar Dundee.

Rockstar Games now includes a total of ten separate studios, the most recent of which is Rockstar Dundee. Behind that name is the former Ruffian Games development team, best known for the Xbox 360 exclusive Crackdown 2, which Rockstar bought out in early October, after a year of collaboration on the development of unnamed games.

There are two reasons why Rockstar chose this team. First of all - they have experience working on open world games, which Rockstar Games prefers. Secondly, the studio is located in Scotland, near the main and home studio Rockstar North, at a distance of only 60 kilometers.

This is the first studio Rockstar has bought since 2008, and the second new studio they have added to their family in the last 16 years.
