From next Tuesday, all Apex Legends players will be able to play together on different platforms

The promised support for cross-platform gaming in Apex Legends comes next Tuesday, but that doesn’t include shared advancements across all platforms.

From October 6, Apex Legends will have shared multiplayer on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Cross-play will be turned on in Apex by default, but players will be able to turn it off if for some reason they don’t want to play against players from the other two platforms, or team up with them. Each player will have an icon indicating on which platform he is playing the game.

It is important to note that players who play Apex Legends on a PC using a mouse and keyboard will generally not be connected along with players on the gamepad. However, if you manually assemble a team, i.e. you invite someone to your team who plays with a mouse-keyboard combination, then your team will automatically connect to matches where everyone is playing with a mouse and keyboard.

Respawn Entertainment notes that cross-play support does not mean cross-progression support. That is, although everyone can now play together, it does not mean that you can transfer the progress made on the PC to the console or vice versa. That will still have to wait.

By the way, in addition to cross-play in Apex Legends comes a new limited mode called Flashpoint in which there are no items to treat but players restore energy in massive zones on the map. In addition, the circle is constantly decreasing in this mode.
