One of the first games for the PlayStation 5 console will also be the "always online" title, so you will have to be connected to the Internet even if you play the game yourself.
The upcoming action game Godfall has already raised a lot of dust - first because of its graphics and desire to emphasize that it is a "next-gen exclusive", and then the price at which it will be sold. Namely, Godfall arrives on PC (Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5 and will graphically be the same game on both platforms. But the PC version will cost € 60, while the PlayStation 5 version will cost € 80 (+ PS Plus subscription).
Regardless of those prices, it was recently revealed that the game will be one of those that require players to be connected to the internet in order to play. It would not be disputable if it was about the so-called a live service game or some sort of MMO. But it is controversial because Godfall is not a game by service model and can be played without other players, just not without the internet.
Many were bothered by such a decision, so they expressed their dissatisfaction on various online platforms. And while some argue that this is not a problem because our consoles are connected to the internet all the time today anyway, others point out that this could mean death to the game if the developer one day decides to shut down servers and not allow offline gaming. And such a risk is by no means in favor of a game that costs 80+ euros.
