Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit brings racing to the living room

One of the more original games this year will be Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit which is played using the Nintendo Switch console screen, but actually takes place directly on the ground of the room in which it is played.

Nintendo will launch a new Mario Kart in mid-October, but it's not exactly the Mario Kart you'd expect. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is partly a video game and partly a remote-controlled physical car race. The game uses augmented reality technology and comes in a package with one card and four passes that form a track.

Namely, the player places four passages in an arbitrary place and designs different types of tracks by driving cars through them. As the ride takes place in real space, Nintendo recommends that the space be at least 3 × 3.6 meters. Once the track is designed, Maria or Luigi are joined by virtual opponents and the race can begin. The rules of the competition are the same as in the classic Mario Card, so throwing bananas is not forbidden - as long as they are virtual, not real banana peels.

The game itself will have a Grand Prix mode with eight cups and 24 different races. During the race, it is important to collect coins to upgrade the vehicle, and avoid virtually created obstacles. In addition to the Grand Prix, Mario Kart Live brings Custom Race mode, Time Trials and Mirror Mode in which all Grand Prix races are driven in the opposite direction.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit will be sold in two versions - with Mario card or Luigi card, from October 16 this year, at a price of 99.99 euros for one package.
