Cloud Imperium and Crytek have reached an agreement, so Star Citizen is out of legal trouble
It appears that Crytek and Cloud Imperium Games have reached an agreement on a lawsuit over the use of CryEngine for Star Citizen and its singleplayer component Squadron 42.
For those who don't know, Crytek is suing Cloud Imperium Games because, contrary to their contract, they use their CryEngine in two instead of one. All this despite switching to Cloud Imperium and Star Citizen and his singleplayer campaign Squadron 42 on Amazon's Lumberyard Engine.
Although the same is based on CryEngine, the situation is legally pure because there is a separate licensing agreement with Amazon. But that didn't stop Crytek. After the latest news that she will try the court proceedings from scratch, however, she comes to the agreement reached and the resolution of the case. The specifics of the deal are unknown, and both studies must jointly file a request to dismiss the case within 30 days.
It is very possible that they saw in Crytek that their lawsuit would not go through and that it could significantly harm their finances. Although Cloud Imperium exploited a loophole by "switching" to almost the same engine under a different name, Crytek itself created the same when it was sold to Amazon due to financial problems. Now that that story is over, Crytek may be able to work a little more on Hunt: Showdown, and Cloud Imperium has one excuse less for Star Citizen's ongoing delays.

Population Zero arrives soon; survival MMO with elements of battle royale games
Population Zero could be a very competitive and tense experience thanks to an interesting blend of survival mechanics and a PvP component that seemed to come out of some battle royal game.
Population Zero is a story driven sci-fi MMO that went into closed beta testing last year. If you are one of the interested and have not been able to participate, the good news comes from the game manufacturer. Specifically, the game arrives at Steam Early Access at the beginning of the fifth month with many changes and improvements.
First of all, the main goal of the manufacturer is to make all game activities more meaningful. In this regard, Population Zero, like many MMO games, will have a weekly reset. The difference is that in this case, a weekly reset will mean the end of the game, but also a fresh start. Like a battle royale, when they enter the game world, players will have seven days to survive by fighting against nature, but also against each other and building shelter before the planet on which the game takes place becomes inhospitable to life. If they survive, experience and the rewards they have earned go into a new cycle and start over. The manufacturer promises to add new mysteries, mechanics, but also entire regions in new cycles.
Contrary to the original plan and thanks to player feedback, the game will not be free-to-play but will cost $ 30. In addition to the fact that the game will have a significantly smaller number of microtransactions exclusively in the form of cosmetics, it will allow the manufacturer to develop additional content for the game faster. Take a look at the trailer:
Ubisoft deactivated the Rainbow Six Siege Clash for the third time
In other news - the sky is still blue. R6 Siege players are no longer surprised by this because it looks like the defensive operative spent more time outside than inside the game.
Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical FPS that is adorned by operatives and tries to combine arcade and realism in its design. Every three months comes a new season, and with it two operatives. The Clash arrived alongside Maverick in Operation Grim Sky and her lifespan within Ubisoft's game can literally be described in this way - grim and gloomy.
The French company has announced on Twitter and Reddit that it will withdraw Clash from the active game to try to resolve the problem that has arisen in the players, which was discovered on current test servers. Although they did not say directly what the reason was, they were aware of what was happening and decided to react at the right moment.
As we mentioned, no official problem was stated, but a video appeared on YouTube showing what was actually happening. Players can hide behind her shield, which allows it in some strange way, and shoot at opponents, and they can't target them.
The title itself says - Clash issues are very well known among the Rainbow Six Siege community. The same operative was deactivated for the first time in the fifth month of last year, when glitch enabled players to use the shield and fire through it at the same time. Ubisoft spotted it, fixed the problem, and put it back in the game at the beginning of the seventh month. Just five months later, a new problem was discovered - when a player had a primary weapon in his hands, opponents were shown Clash using a shield. Soon the operative was withdrawn and repaired and returned to the game, and now new problems arose.
As things have gone, many players feel that the Clash makes no sense to keep in active play anymore. Since Ubisoft has reworked Lyon, one of the most irritating operatives to date, and is currently working on a Tachanka refurbishment, the R6 Siege community believes that they should go for such treatment as well.
Nvidia embarrassed Google Stage, more than one million users have tried GeForce Now
Nvidia has announced the first operating results of its streaming service GeForce Now. If the day is known by morning, the service has a bright future.
In less than a month since the GeForce Now streaming service has been made available to the public, more than one million players have tested the benefits and charms of streaming. Nvidia has not revealed how many users have tried the service in the free version, and how many have actually subscribed to so-called. Founders membership.
All the same, the result is a shame on streaming service for Stadia, a far bigger Google company. There is no precise data on the number of users for the Stadiya, but if we follow the statistics of downloading the Stadia app from the Google Play Store, we can conclude that the number of those who have tried this service is no more than 200 thousand.
Of course, GeForce Now is ahead of the Stage for a number of reasons. For starters, there is free streaming access, which has not yet come to life on the Stage. Furthermore, a different format is crucial so that users do not need to buy games but can stream what they have in their collections on Steam, Epic Games Launcher, Uplay and the like.
Although there has been a misunderstanding between Nvidia and Activision Blizzard since the launch of the service, which eliminates games such as Overwatch and the Call of Duty series, Nvidia says GeForce Now will receive huge gaming support in the future.
Currently, they have an additional 1,500 games that will eventually become compatible with streaming, and it has been confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be among them from day one, which users will be able to play with raytracing settings with a subscription of just five and a half euros.
Electronic Arts has canceled another Star Wars game we've never seen
According to a report from Kotaku, Electronic Arts also canceled the third unannounced Star Wars game in the last three years.
The dark side of the Force is paving the way for powers that many consider unnatural. And some consider the power of Electronic Arts' dark power to make a quality Star Wars game that isn't the work of Respawn Entertainment in three years. In fact, according to Kotaku, EA also reportedly canceled the third Star Wars game, which they developed at one point, but never announced and made public.
The code name for the game was Viking, and this is the third Star Wars project to cross in the last three years. It was a project that actually stems from 2015 and a game developed by the former Visceral Games. When that game was canceled in 2017 and Visceral closed, the project was moved to EA Vancouver and renamed the Orca project.
It didn't last long, just a year, and in 2019 it was renamed the spin-off title of Star Wars: Battlefront series with an open-world format. The idea was to assist the British studio Criterion on the game, but that seems to have killed the game. According to an anonymous source, the collaboration between studios in Canada and studios in the UK did not go fast enough or smoothly, so it became clear that the game would not be completed in a term appropriate to Electronic Arts.
The outcome is finally known - Criterion returned to the development of Need for Speed games, while EA Vancouver was transferred to assist with the development of Anthem 2.0.

18+ Hot Coffee mode for Red Dead Redemption 2 has appeared
Several modders have made a perverse mode for Red Dead Redemption 2, and Take-Two Interactive is not happy about it.
Rockstar has had major problems in the past, as they have left some of the code for an interactive sexual communication mini-game in GTA: San Andreas. With the advent of the PC version, the modders made it possible to play this mini-game through the so-called Hot Coffee mode, and under the same name, a modification for Red Dead Redemption 2 was recently released.
The modification in the single-player section of the game thus enables the main character in the salon to engage the prostitute's services, and their activities are animated and accompanied by sound. There is no nudity, and the mode uses all the animations and sounds that are already present in the game. For example, the animations used are from a mission where Arthur gets drunk with Lenny.
However, it is questionable how long Hot Coffee Mode will last, as Rockstara's parent company Take-Two Interactive has already sent a request to the fashion authors to remove it. In their view, the existence of such a mode violates a number of rules regarding the use of the game. No matter that there is no nudity in the whole story.
The fashion authors have not removed it yet and say that they do not intend to do so, they only complained that it is a bit hypocritical that Rockstar may include prostitutes in their games, but when someone makes a mode related to them then it is viewed as unacceptable content. Still, the Take-Two Interactive team is easy to understand in this case because they have previous experience with this kind of thing. The situation with San Andreas was a little different, but you know how it goes - who gets burned, smoked and out in the cold.
