FarmVille is shutting down, tell aunts and uncles


 The game that was a real hit on Facebook a decade ago will soon be euthanized along with the software on which it is based.

And the pigs in the barns know that as of December 31 this year, the Flash software platform of the Adobe company, which until ten years ago was an indispensable part of the Internet for all kinds of animations, web games and the like, will go down in history. One of the more popular games in Flash was FarmVille on Facebook, which is still alive but won’t be around for long.

Zynga has confirmed that it will remove FarmVille from the device the same day Flash loses official support. So, from 2021 it will no longer be possible to play the original Farmville, and from 17.11 this year it will no longer be possible to spend money in that game. So please, Aunt Lovorka, stop sending me more requests to help you build a goat barn!

Of course, this does not mean the end of the FarmVille series as such. Virtual farmers can switch to FarmVille 2: Tropic Escape, and it may be even smarter to take a short break from the farm until the arrival of FarmVille 3, which has been available for some time, but an official exit follows by the end of 2020.
