The Rocket League recorded one million active players at the same time for the first time

The transition to the free-to-play model was extremely successful for the Rocket League game. The five-year-old title thus set a new record in the number of players.

Even before switching to the free-to-play model, Rocket League was a successful game played by more than 75 million players at least once. But that five-year-old title welcomed a new youth under Epic Games that allowed the game to become free.

Namely, yesterday at one point Rocket League was played by about a million players at the same time, combined with all platforms. In the five years since the game has been on the market, it is the first time that the number of one million active players has been broken. We don't know which platform had the most players at the time, but previously the Rocket League had a maximum of 119,000 active players on PC earlier this year.

This success was certainly due to the fact that the game on PS4 and Switch consoles bypassed the need to pay subscriptions to PS Plus and Nintendo Online. But the great interest of the players also had its consequences, so the servers were having a hard time breathing. Personally, I didn't run into any problems with server stability, but I only played 2-3 games so I'm not relevant to judge.

What are your experiences with the Rocket League so far?
