Definitely check out the definitive PC requirements for Mafia: Definitive Edition

The Hangar 13 development studio has released hardware requirements for the PC version of Mafia: Definitive Edition. The news is good - the demands are not terrible.

I went now, purely out of curiosity, to recall what the original Mafia: City of Lost Heaven had asked of the hardware under recommended. Namely, it was exclusive for the PC platform for a good two years and as such it was made exactly according to the hardware of that time.

It looked like this: a 700 MHz processor - so not a gigahertz (!), 128 MB of RAM - so not a gigabyte (!), And a 32 MB graphics card. And it took up 1.8 GB of disk space. Today we wonder how it is possible that such a game worked on such hardware, and in its time it looked better even than GTA games.

Mafia: The Definitive Edition will look a couple of generations more advanced than its original, and now we’ve found out what “price” we’re going to pay for it. The hardware requirements for the PC version have been published and are only slightly more demanding than those for Mafia 3 from 2016. In any case, you will need Windows 10 and about 50 gigabytes of free disk space. Other requirements are as follows:

Little mobster:

  • CPU: Intel i5-2550K / AMD FX-8120
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 / AMD Radeon HD 7870
  • RAM: 6 GB

Big gangster:

  • CPU: Intel i7-3770 / AMD FX-8350
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 / AMD Radeon RX 5700
  • RAM: 16 GB
