Capcom said it was exploring the possibility of bringing Resident Evil 8 to old consoles, although they promised nothing.
Resident Evil Village is designed for next-generation consoles and PCs, Capcom says. But they would also like to bring the game to the old PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, they claim. With that intent, they set out to explore that possibility, but beg that they not be held to their word because this is not a promise that the new Resi will indeed appear on these platforms.
In addition to that information, Capcom has released a new development diary for the game. In it, they point out that the protagonist Ethan Winters in RE Village is a far more rounded character and has more background stories. His search for his daughter will coincide with the events in the title village, and we will follow the complex story in part through the Village of Shadows picture book.
We expect to see new materials from the game on Sunday, September 27.
