Cyberpunk 2077 will have microtransactions - but only in multiplayer

At a recent investor account, CD Projekt said it was looking for ways to encourage Cyberpunk players to spend more money.

Recently, CD Projekt submitted a financial management report to its investors, and as part of that report, director Adam Kincinski said the company was looking for ways to encourage Cyberpunk players to spend more, but without upsetting or angering them. This worried some fans and they immediately suspected that the microtransactions could end up in the game itself.

The CD Project therefore decided to clarify the situation and said that the microtransaction will absolutely not be in the single-player campaign of Cyberpunk 2077. However, a separate multiplayer project will be a different story and they do not hide that it will contain some kind of microtransaction. They point out that they announced this a year ago and that nothing has changed in the meantime.

The goal of the CD Project in the implementation of microtransactions in Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer will be to make players happy with what they buy.

“We want players to be happy while spending money on our products. Just like with all our games, it’s the same with microtransactions. You can expect them and Cyberpunk 2077 is a good ground for selling things, but those sales won’t be aggressive. It will not upset the players but will make them happy. At least that's our goal. " - they explained from the CD Project.
