Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will not be available as a separate game

Sony has clarified the situation with the Marvel’s Spider-Man remaster for the PlayStation 5. And the situation is still complicated.

Sony has quietly announced a 2018 Marvel’s Spider-Man remaster for the PlayStation 5, and they didn’t want to raise the pump for several reasons. First, owners of Spider-Man for PS4, either standard or GOTY editions, cannot get the remaster for free. Secondly, if you already have a game for PS4 and want to transfer the recorded positions to remaster - it will not work.

Third, you can’t buy a remaster separately, Sony has confirmed, but only as part of Marvel’s new Spider-Man: Miles Morales game. Fourth, it will cost you 80 euros and nothing else. Admittedly, Sony has highlighted one option. Namely, if you buy Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PlayStation 4 (exclusively digital), on PlayStation 5 you have the right to buy an upgrade to the Ultimate edition, which includes a remaster. It will cost 20 euros.

Technically, then, they sell the remaster separately - but only to those who bought Spider-Man: Miles Morales, either on the PlayStation 4 or on the Petite. In other words, there’s no reason why the remaster couldn’t be sold separately - to everyone, when they don’t already give it away for free at least to the owners of the GOTY edition of Spider-Man.
