Coronavirus (again) stopped filming The Batman

Rumors were circulating on the Internet that the production of the upcoming film about the famous DC superhero had been interrupted, which was finally confirmed. The culprit is the coronavirus.

The Batman, whose main star is Robert Pattinson, delighted many fans with his first show. The tension, intensity, and mystery could be read from the brief announcement. Director Matt Reeves ’film at last month’s DC FanDome gave us a hint of what kind of atmosphere awaits us. It is an impressive fact that they made such a good announcement, shooting only one third of the film.

Looks like he'll stay on it, at least for a while. The other day, rumors were circulating on the Internet that the recording was interrupted because one member of the team became infected with coronavirus. Confirmation of these allegations soon arrived, and it was Robert Pattinson. The lead actor of the upcoming film is positive on COVID-19 and will have to go into isolation, and filming will resume when he recovers.

Your computer is good, but - can it run Crysis Remastered?

There has been a moment of truth for PC gamers who can now find out if they have a good enough configuration to run Crysis Remastered.

The original 2007 Crysis was a game that looked ahead of its time, but we paid dearly for that look because it was also one of the most demanding PC games in history. So the saying goes, "Yes, but can Crysis start?" Simply put, the computers we were able to assemble at the time could not chew Crysis without problems and it took at least another two to three years for the hardware to catch up with Crysis.

For the sake of order, here is what PC Crysis was looking for in its time under the recommended:

  • CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz / Athlon X2 4400+
  • GPU NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB RAM
  • RAM: 2 GB

Graphics cards that didn't even have a gigabyte of memory, heh.

The Crysisa Remaster shouldn't be demanding for today's terms, but it still jokingly returns that question: can your computer run Crysis Remastered? You can now get the answer yourself because the official requirements for the game are publicly available, and they read as follows:

FOR MINIMUM GRAPHICS:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 / AMD Ryzen 3
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti / AMD Radeon 470
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • HDD: 20 GB

RECOMMENDED FOR BRAGING:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-7600k / AMD Ryzen 5
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti / AMD Radeon Vega 56
  • RAM: 12GB

So how are you standing? Is your current configuration worthy of a return to Nanosuit?

The Last of Us: Part II is the game with the most completed plays on the PlayStation 4 console

Statistics related to trophies on the PlayStation 4 console reveal that most players have completed The Last of Us Part II, which cannot be said for other games on the console.

Single-player games still sell in the millions, but have you ever wondered how many players play purchased games from start to finish? Judging by the statistics from the PlayStation 4 platform - not many of them. Namely, each game on the PlayStation usually rewards 4 players with a trophy, and it is possible to see the percentage of players who won that trophy, ie those who completed the game. And according to statistics transmitted by the ungeek portal, this year's The Last of Us Part II managed to keep players until the very end of the story more than other games on the PlayStation.

The Last of Us Part II was thus completed by 58% of the players who played the game, and this is not only the highest percentage this year but the highest percentage on the PlayStation in general. For example, Ghost of Tsushima has a significantly lower percentage of players who saw the story as a whole - only 38.2%. It should be noted that this has nothing to do with the amount of copies of the game sold, this percentage only means that more than half of the players who played the game ended up the same.

This may be supported by the predominantly linear structure of TLOU 2, because in percentage terms it seems that fewer and fewer players are coming to an end as the game is longer and more open, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding and Red Dead Redemption II. Here's how the situation currently looks among the games with the most endings:

  • The Last of Us Part II - 58%
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake - 53.3%
  • God of War - 51.8%
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man - 50.7%
  • Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - 50.3%
  • Detroit: Become Human - 49%
  • Ghost of Tsushima - 38.2%
  • Horizon Zero Dawn - 34.5%
  • Days Gone - 34%
  • Death Stranding - 29.3%
  • Red Dead Redemption II - 28.6%

It is worth noting that small deviations from these percentages are possible because trophies / transfers are not taken into account for consoles that are never connected to the Internet. However, The Last of Us Part II sold most of its copies in digital form (about 2.8 million during the 6th month), and digital copies cannot be installed on the console if it is not connected to the Internet.

Hitman 3 was given a release date

IO Interactive has revealed the exact release date of its new Hitman game, the latest and final in the trilogy.

Even when announcing Hitman 3, we knew that the game was coming soon - in the first month of 2021. Now we know the exact date, which is 20. 1. This date applies to all versions, and there are five pieces: for PC (on the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X, and Google Stadium . The Steam version will follow a year later, in early 2022.

It was announced last week that Hitman 3 will have a free upgrade to the next-gen version if you purchase it in the digital edition for PS4 or Xbox One. Earlier, it was confirmed that the game will not be in an episodic format, but we will immediately get six missions in the package.

Fortnite gets nicer graphics, see what it will look like

Epic Games and Nvidia have announced that Fortnite will receive support for ray-tracing effects on the PC, as well as optimization for DLSS technology.

Fortnite will soon look prettier than usual! The game won’t change its distinctive visual style, but it will get support for current techniques like ray-tracing and Nvidia’s DLSS. For now, this only applies to the PC version, but chances are high that we will see this graphics advancement on next-generation consoles as well.

But what exactly does that mean? Well, let me tell you the truth - not much, but if you have a graphics card from the RTX series you will see better reflections of the world on water and glass surfaces. Everything in real time.

The improvement won’t be drastic, as in Minecraft for example, but support for DLSS technology could help run the game in 4K resolution to get a higher number of frames per second, and thus a smoother performance.

Tom Clancy’s The Division for PC is shared for free

Ubisoft’s third-person shooter The Division is currently available for just zero kuna and remains in your permanent possession.

The 2016 Division had its problems, both technical and repetitive in design. But things have somehow fallen into place through updates and extensions. Somewhat paradoxically, the first part was even better and wider than its sequel for a while. Plus, today’s computers can run it without major problems, and the game itself still looks quite attractive.

We now mention the game for the reason that Ubisoft shares it for free. We don't know on what occasion - I guess they feel like goodies. Or they want to divert attention from the controversy and embarrassment they have had in the last week. In any case, they honor players on the PC platform with a free copy of The Division. Which remains in permanent ownership.

You only need to activate it on your Uplay account no later than September 8. This is a standard release with no special add-ons.

Pikachu didn't evolve though, it was all a big click bait

Pikachu, owned by Ash Ketchum, did not evolve even after a thousand or so episodes, and the creators of the series performed the expected cover.

Many Pokemon fans last week wondered if it was really possible that Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu would evolve into a more advanced version, Raichua, after more than two decades, as the description of the 35th episode of Pokemon Journeys suggested. Yesterday that episode aired in Japan so we got the answer that reads: no, it’s not possible.

Namely, many Pikachui evolved in this episode, but not the oldest we know. Still, the creators of the series decided to keep fans in a state of uncertainty and disbelief for a full 15 seconds. For a moment, evolution seemed to have taken place in Raichu, but it was soon discovered that it was just a hoax.

Still, one Raichu will be present on Ash’s adventures in the future because his companion Goh, who wanted Pikachu in this episode, eventually got Raichu.

It went: WoW: Shadowlands under necessarily states SSD

Judging by the hardware requirements for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, players will have to use only the SSD for that game.

The transition of consoles to SSD type storage disks should, as expected, raise the requirements on the PC platform as well. While some will say that SSDs have been the standard PC platform for years, the fact is that games were not designed to take advantage of that hardware. That is, the games did not require the user to own an SSD so he could play them.

There were some exceptions, for example Star Citizen which is practically unplayable on the HDD, but in general on the PC it was always recommended to use an SSD, not necessarily. But, as we said a moment ago, that could soon change. And it seems that we have already got the first game that requires SSD under obligatory.

It’s World of Warcraft: Shadowlands whose minimum hardware requirements specifically specify an SSD with 100 gigabytes of free space. Now, this technically does not mean that it will not be possible to install the game on old HDDs, but it is clearly suggested that players with HDD will spend more time loading the game than in the game itself.

The Shadowlands expansion itself will be significantly more demanding than Battle for Azeroth in all segments. For example, the GeForce GTX 960 graphics used to be enough for what was recommended, and now the GTX 1080 is in demand. Instead of Intel's Core i7-4770, the Core i7-6700K is now in demand.

Here is the full list of requirements for WoW: Shadowlands.

Minimum configuration:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 3450 / AMD FX 8300
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 / AMD Radeon RX 560 / Intel UHD 630 (45 W)
  • RAM: 4 GB (8 GB for integrated graphics)
  • SSD: 100 GB of free space
  • OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)

Recommended configuration:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 3450 / AMD FX 8300
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 / AMD Radeon RX Vega 64
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • SSD: 100 GB of free space
