The original Gothic will get reworked if the players want it

A fantastic RPG classic called Gothic has received a demo version of an unexpected rework. But this is no guarantee that the game will be made.

The THQ Nordica team has prepared an interesting strategy for one of the games they are developing. Specifically, last weekend they unveiled a reworking of Gothic from 2001, through a two-hour demo available to anyone with original Gothic on Steam.

The key to all this is that it has not yet been decided whether the Gothic remake will go into full production or be abandoned. The reaction of the fans will depend on it - if they give the green light, then the rework will be, if not - none of that.

For now, the demo of the rework has caused split reactions. Some are pleasantly surprised while others are disappointed because the game was visibly made with consoles in mind (the original Gothic was PC exclusive). Some even claim that this revision destroys the spirit of the original Gothic and that this is not the direction the series should go.

It is worth noting that the team of Piranh Bytes, who made the original, is not involved in the remaking of the game, although they are part of THQ Nordic. As the record label explains, Piranha Bytes is working on another project to launch in 2020, which is quite possibly a brand new game from the Gothic series.
