Capcom protects several new trademarks, including "Dino Crisis" and "Darkstalkers"

The Capcom reworkings of Resident Evil games show that they are free to peek into their archives and revive old hits, and it seems that the classics of Dino Crisis and Darkstalkers have come.

While this move can be said to be a mere formality for Capcom, we can afford to start daydreaming about something some of us have been waiting for for quite some time.

According to a Twitter account leaking information about new trademark registration requirements in Japan, Capcom has filed a number of different claims to protect its intellectual property. Power Stone and Rockman are among them, but most of the excitement was caused by the mention of cult classics Dino Crisis and Darkstalker. Dino Crisis is a 1999 horror adventure, and Darkstalkers is a series of taboos, better known in Japan as Vampire, whose first sequel came out way back in 1994.

According to the Tweet, the requests were submitted on November 29 this year and while this might just be an administrative decision, keeping in mind Capcom's latest moves, we can rightly hope to revive these classics in a new look.
