A bunch of new details about Diablo 4 have been revealed, there will be gambling and microtransactions

Getting back to the roots of Diablo 4 is not just about returning a darker tone. Other segments of the game will also be close to the tradition of the series.

Following the official unveiling of Diablo 4, a team from Blizzard held a panel where fans were introduced to the ideas behind the new sequel to the popular series. Fans also got a chance to play an early demo of the game at the BlizzCon convention, and from all this we got some key information about Diablo 4.

For starters, the format of the game will not change so Diablo 4 will be priced at € 60, and any future add-ons will also be sold in expansion form. Microtransactions will be present in the game and will mostly be of a cosmetic nature (objects that affect the appearance of characters or mounts). I say mostly because it also mentions the ability to sell additional character slots. Still, Blizzard points out that average players will have more than enough slots for their characters.

Therefore, the game will not be playable offline. You will be able to play it on your own, but you will see other players in certain zones of the world or in certain events. It's a slightly different approach from the MMO genre, so Diablo 4 shouldn't bring scenes where players wait in line to slap a boss. However, the plan is for the game to have a clan component so players within the clan can share equipment and resources. A standard party can hold up to four players. There will be no Raids and PvP will be optional. The weight of the game will be scaled by the number of players, but some regions will be challenging regardless of the number of players.

The auction house from the trio will not return, and although we will be able to trade within the game with other players, it will be quite limited trading. For example, some pieces of equipment will not be able to be sold at all, while rare equipment will only be sold once before it becomes permanent property. So there should be no mass resale.

There will be no system boot, at least not under that name, but there will be mini-gambling games in which players will have the opportunity to win legendary gear. However, there will reportedly be no real money gambling option, but only the gold that is collected within the game itself will be used.

The game world will be divided into five zones, each with a dynamic change of day, night and weather. Five different classes will be available upon release. The maximum level for characters will be 40, and will increase with each expansion. Unlike the trio, the gathering of experience will go slower while the character's progress will be able to follow a number of different branches. There will be two versions of runes: condition and effect, and their combination will lead to unique bonuses.

The items / equipment will be available in five types: common, magical, rare, legendary and mythical. The endgame will focus on collecting legendary items. The player will only be able to use one mythical item at a time. The equipment will have a wear system, which means that its efficiency will decline the longer the equipment is used without repair.

Upon reaching level 40, the player will be given magic keys, each of which is associated with dungeons already completed. When the key is used in the proper dungeon, it is transformed and the enemies become even more challenging. Each key also has certain modifiers, for example, it can bring bonuses when using a particular type of weapon, etc.

It has been confirmed once again that the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Of these, only the PC version will have mouse and keyboard gaming support. The release date has not yet been announced, and when the game comes out it will probably appear on the next generation of consoles as well.
