Even the most expensive graphics won't let you get RDR 2 in 4K resolution and 60 fps at maximum detail

Red Dead Redemption 2 in PC version should not be demanding as far as hardware is concerned. But it's worth it until you try to run the game in maximum detail at 4K60.

Nvidia has just released a new driver version that should help GeForce graphics card owners play the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 comfortably. a minor surprise arose.

Although RDR 2 should not be a particularly demanding game on PC, especially since it does not support raytracing effects, it seems that Nvidia's RTX series will not exactly chew Red Dead Redemption 2. Namely, at 1080p and 1440p, for 60 fps and High detail level are recommended for RTX 2060 and 2070 Super. It is worth noting that these are not the maximum graphic quality settings that there is also an Ultra option above. For her, RTX 2080 Super and RTX 2080 Ti for 1440p are recommended at 1080p.

Things get serious, though, if you start thinking about playing in 4K resolution. In this case, Nvidia recommends the RTX 2080 Ti - its most expensive free-to-sell card. Of course, this is only their recommendation, but it is interesting that the recommendation states that in 4K resolution with this card you will not be able to play on Ultra settings, but will have to lower some settings even on Medium in order to maintain a stable 60 fps.

So, one can draw on the fact that there is currently no graphics card on the market that would independently spin RDR2 at full High / Ultra detail in 4K60. Therefore, in Nvidia, they suggest players upscaling to 4K resolution with lower resolutions to get at image quality while maintaining performance stability. These are the other tricks used on consoles - the same devices that cost less than Nvidia's graphics cards.
