Hideo Kojima has received certificates for two Guinness World Records

The creator of Metal Gear and Death Stranding received two Guinness World Record certificates, this time unrelated to the games he directed.

Hideo Kojima has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the past decade, or rather a gamer edition. He then joined the legendary Sid Meier as another game designer with the award, which he received because Metal Gear is the best-selling stealth genre game series. Now the Japanese designer has received a slightly more personal award. More specifically, awards, because he set two records.

Specifically, Hideo Kojima is a video game designer with the most followers on social media Twitter and Instagram. 2.8 million people follow Kojima's Twitter feed, and 908 thousand on Instagram. No one in the Kojimi video game industry is anywhere near that. By comparison, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann has just 258,000 followers. The creator of the Gears of War series, Cliff Bleszinski has 618,000 followers, but he's no longer engaged in video game development.

Hideo Kojima himself is far more popular than his Kojima Productions team, followed by 290,000 people on Twitter, and even from the entire PlayStation branch for Europe. It is worth noting that he is not only popular with players but also in various artistic circles because he hangs out with film directors, famous actors, musicians and other celebs. It is believed that taking photos with Keanu Reeves most of all helped him confirm his status for the Guinness World Record.
