Probably the last game for the Wii console is out

Ubisoft has announced that it will no longer make games for the ancient Wii console, which is likely to end its lifecycle.

Ubisoft this week launched the Just Dance 2020 game for current platforms as well as for the Nintendo Wii - a console almost thirteen years old. For the past two years, the French company has been the only one to release new games for the Nintendo Console the previous generation, and now they have announced that they are done with it. It is certain that Just Dance 2021 will be released next year, but that game will not appear in the Wii version.

Ubisoft said they could not confirm that Just Dance 2020 was the latest game developed for the Wii console, but it looks like it will be. In the last four years, only three publishers have launched their games on the Wii platform: Ubisoft, Konami and Ravenscourt.

In any case, thanks to Ubisoft, the Wii has outlived many other consoles, including generational competition in the form of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. These consoles got their last game last year when FIFA 19: Legacy Edition came out. However, the Wii is not the longest-running console in this respect, as the PlayStation 2 technically has had longer-lasting support and received its last game 13 and a half years after its release.
