GTA 5 is still selling better than most new games

Take-Two Interactive's financial report shows that GTA 5 has sold more than 115 million units so far.

Yesterday, Take-Two Interactive held its investors with a financial report for the second quarter of its fiscal year 2020. On this occasion, they had much to boast about, as earnings grew 74% year-over-year. This was largely due to the successful NBA 2K20 and Borderlands 3. The latter has so far sold more than seven million copies, and The Outer Worlds is also said to have made a promising start-up performance.

But Take-Two has a strong background in Rockstar titles. Red Dead Redemption 2 has so far sold 26.5 million units, not counting the PC version. Grand Theft Auto 5 reached 115 million units, selling five million units in the last six months.

Take-Two Interactive is equally optimistic about the future. They say their game setup is the strongest in company history and contains some of their biggest intellectual property. You don't need better confirmation than GTA 6 is in development. And probably the next BioShock is just around the corner.
