Get a unique Tower of Time RPG game for free

The latest game that GOG.com is sharing in 2019 is also one of the most interesting games they've given us so far.

Some people complain about writing free games on the Epic Games Store, out of principle. So the good news is that the unique Tower of Time RPG can be purchased for free at GOG.com if you prefer this platform. The game will be distributed there until the end of the year, and once you add it to your collection, it's yours for all time. About.

Tower of Time is an interesting dungeon-crawler subgenre experiment, launched in early 2018. The game brings seven playable classes, over 150 types of enemies, five difficulty settings and several game modes. In it, the fight takes place in real time, with the ability to pause or slow down time. For those looking for a challenge, there is also a permadeath option, and if you are not interested in the story of a tower set upside down, you can completely skip it and focus on fighting with RPGlite mode.

The unofficial S.T.A.L.K.E.R. came out. Remaster, weighing 30 gigabytes

The cult Stalker: Shadow of Chernobly has come to life today with a graphical mode that brings more polygons, new effects and sharper textures to the game.

Cult shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R .: Shadow of Chernobyl will probably never get an official remaster due to complications with game rights. However, fans have "remastered" the game several times, and the latest attempt to modernize Stalker came to fruition a few hours ago.

The Stalker SoC Remaster is available for download, and in its 30 gigabytes it delivers an increased number of polygons for NPC characters, mutants, and objects. Of course, the sharpened 4K texture is due to the modification size. In addition, there is a modified lighting system. You can check out what this looks like in the following trailer:

It doesn't seem like much of a progress for me personally, but maybe it just looks like that in the video. In any case, the modification should work neatly with the GOG version of Stalker, which you can currently buy for 5 and a half euros. The modification author has already started work on the same treatment for Stalker: Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat.

It now takes 75 days to break through Denuvo Protection

In the last half year, the time it took to break Denuvo anti-piracy protection has decreased and now averages 75 days.

Relatively few PC games do not have their pirated versions, but whatever is being said around, the often-contested Denuvo protection does its job. In the last half year, the average time required to break Denuvo protection has been reduced to 75 days (a full week versus the first half of 2019), an extremely significant figure since games are mostly sold right the first two to three months after release.

Ultimately, Denuvo gets hacked, so the publishers themselves remove that protection - for example, as of recently Resident Evil 2 is no longer protected by Denuvo. However, it can be said that Denuvo won this year as the protection for numerous hits has not been broken so far, including Mortal Kombat 11, Anno 1800, F1 2019, eFootball PES 2020, FIFA 20, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Planet Zoo, Football Manager 2020, Red Dead Redemption 2, Detroit: Become Human and other games.

Admittedly, the same luck was not another hit. For example, protection for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is broken after only three days. Code Vein lasted a little longer - four days. Borderlands 3 and Total War: Three Kingdoms fell after forty days.

The next generation of consoles will not be senile, more games will be kept in memory

We've already heard that ninth-generation consoles will launch games much faster and will virtually eliminate downloads. But it is less well known that we will be able to pause multiple games at a time.

Earlier this month, while we were all discussing the cumbersome design of the Xbox Series X console, we got under the radar news of interesting functionality that would be available on that console, and is not currently feasible on existing consoles. Specifically, it has been said that the new Xbox will be able to use its NVME SSD for virtual memory, which means, among other things, that it will be able to remember running games in memory. And it's not a mistake when we say plural games - it is mentioned that the console will be able to launch the second game without completely exiting the first one.

This is not possible on current consoles, because every time you start the second game, it must first shut down. This is acceptable to many because the game goes off when the console is switched off and two games cannot be played at the same time anyway. However, it is a nice option when the console is put into stand by mode - when you re-ignite it, your game is ready to play where you left off without ever loading. Such, for example, is extremely useful on a Switch console that literally has a pick-up & play format and does not necessarily depend on the TV.

There is no mention yet of how many running Xbox Seriex X games and (very likely) PlayStation 5 will be able to save in memory, but it is clear that this will only be an option. We do not expect consoles to have huge SSD capacity, and game installations will become larger. Therefore, it is questionable how much we will benefit from this functionality, but it is good to know that such a thing will exist.

Russia has been cut off from the world wide web as part of a planned test announced earlier this year

Disconnection would be done to protect the country against possible cyber attacks.

At the beginning of the year, Russian authorities began drafting a new law that would allow the country to be completely disconnected from the world wide web and continue to operate only through their Russian servers.

In other words, Russia plans to turn it into a large, nation-wide intranet. The law establishing such a network was signed by President Vladimir Putin in May this year.

Basically, the idea of the Russian authorities is that in case of cyber attack on the country from outside, the internet network can continue to operate only inside the country, that is to say only Russian web sites and Russian services which are of course hosted on Russian servers. .

The test of whether this would be possible and what would be the results of such a disconnection from the world wide web was due to take place in the spring, but has been delayed, so Russian authorities said it had successfully passed this month.

According to the authorities, Russia was successfully disconnected from the world wide web, and this was not even noticed by the citizens. Whether this is really possible is a question, but there are alternative and popular services in almost every country in the country, such as the Google Search alternative and the like.

"It turned out that, in general, both the authorities and the telecom operators are ready to respond effectively to the possible risks and threats and to enable the functioning of the Internet and the unified telecommunications network in Russia," said Deputy Minister for Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media. , Alexei Sokolov.

Although the Russian authorities say such a measure is being developed and would only be used in the event of external cyberattacks, for many this is something that could be used to control the Internet and monitor citizens.

Get a samurai version of Desperados and Commandos for free

Today you can get the excellent Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun game for free on the Epic Games Store, which will be enjoyed by all fans of the RTT genre.

Just a few days later, the Epic Games Store is distributing games for free, and yesterday they decided to donate one of the most valuable games to their customers yesterday. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is normally on sale for € 40, and today by 5pm you can add it to your collection for free. This is recommended to all fans of the Commandos and Desperados series because this game is the spiritual heir to their real-time tactics genre.

I rated Shadow Tactics a high 90 in 2017 and have been eagerly waiting ever since to see what the Mimimi Games team will do next. And then it was announced that they were going to make Desperados 3. That game was recently moved to 2020. So free Shadow Tactics can serve as a good workout, though the samurai and outlaws of the Wild West don't really have many touch points.

In any case, if for some reason you despise this Epic Games Launcher and you like our recommendation, you can also play Shadow Tactics on Origin as part of the Origin Access subscription for 4 Euros per month.

The Predator announced its arrival next year, not only on the PS4 but also on the PC

Asymmetric multiplayer game Predator: Hunting Grounds has been released and confirmed that it is not full PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Today's episode of State of Play brought us the release date for Predator: Hunting Grounds. The date in question is April 24, 2020, who is alive and who is dead. We say this because the game comes out a week after Cyberpunk 2077. Good luck to her.

In addition to announcing the release date, we also received a few more news about the game itself. For one thing, it is no longer a PlayStation 4 exclusive, at least not in the full sense of the word. Predator: Hunting Grounds will be able to play on both PC and PlayStation 4 the same day. We can just see her in the trailer using her killer Yautja bow and ... bra?

In addition to the bow itself, the Predator and Predator will also be able to use a few other weapons such as Smart Disc and Combistick. There will be three classes for the Predator, namely agile scout, balanced hunter and brutal savage. Apparently, the Predator will be able to mimic the original from 1987, but it looks like that skin will be reserved for those who order the game before launch.

A survey by The New York Times shows the extent to which mobile device tracking has occurred

Famous media has come up with a database of many created by tracking the location of users of various smartphone applications today.

We all know that the phones we use nowadays are being "abused" to track our location, and here we are not thinking by the authorities for our control. Modern site tracking, though we don't exclude the authorities from this, is done by companies that sell the site for the purpose of selling ads.

While this is itself a major breach of user privacy, we can only imagine what it would be like if this data were purchased or otherwise obtained by someone who had a different idea than that of selling ads.

There are other ideas, of course, many of which are monitoring the population by non-democratic authorities, tracking the location of intelligence by other countries, celebrities, and blackmailing the like.

The extent to which the location of mobile devices is collected and stored can be seen in this excellent research article by The York Times. They have come up with a database of companies working with mobile device locations, after which they have reviewed, researched, and briefly provided worrying data for months.

This database specifically contains information about millions of US users, but nothing indicates that this practice is not being done anywhere in the world, where more, where less.

The New York Times points out that the data contains more than 50 billion mobile device locations, provided by an employee at one of the many site collection companies, and concerned about what might happen if someone decided to abuse, and the same conclusion is shared by The New York Times after their research.

The main problem is that data is collected from many applications, and users can't really do anything to protect it. Claims that this data is anonymous is where the problem becomes really worrying. This is because although the data is really anonymous, it can be very easy to relate to a particular person, especially if it is a celebrity or a person known to the person who owns the data.

The New York Times gives an example of what they could extract from the data. Of all the mobile phones that were in the park in New York, they singled out one. Then for that one cell phone all other locations he was traveling to were available. It is very easy to find out where his work is and where he lives.

With a little further research, it can be discovered that this data is linked to a specific person, and the possibilities for abuse are then unlimited. Those with the data can discover things about certain people who would like to keep them private, such as visiting a particular hospital and the like.

The New York Times article entitled "Twelve Million Phones, One Dataset, Zero Privacy" is detailed and long, but worth reading if you are interested in the subject.

Among the 20 best-selling games on Steam in 2019, only four are 2019 games

Valve has released a list of the best-selling games on Steam in 2019, and it contains a few surprises.

It's been a weird year for Steam, still the strongest PC gaming platform. Strange because the number of games is still growing, but on the other hand, there are more and more games that have not appeared on Steam when and at the Epic Games Store. Nevertheless, the old trends on Steam continue and among the most successful games are older titles, multiplayer titles and free-to-play titles such as Destiny 2, Warframe, Dota 2 and the like.

Among the 12 best-selling games in 2019, only two are from 2019 - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Total War: Three Kingdoms. The top twenty bestsellers are still joined by Devil May Cry V and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Not a big surprise, but there are a few:

  • Slovenian Mordhau has earned more than Red Dead Redemption 2 (but in a much larger time span)
  • Planet Zoo sold better than Mortal Kombat XI
  • Remnant: From the Ashes was more successful than Rage 2
  • TES: Online sold more than TES V: Skyrim
  • Metro Exodus was among the best-selling new games in the 2nd month despite the one-year exclusivity for the Epic Games Store then announced
  • one of the 100 best-selling games is Cyberpunk 2077 - which hasn't come out yet

Valve has released some more lists of the most successful Steam games in 2019, so if you're interested in which VR games were the best-selling or which games played the most players at one time, check the lists

Nvidia says the RTX 2080 Max-Q chip is more powerful than in future consoles

The Nvidia CEO made a rather unnecessary comparison of pears and apples.

These days, at a Nvidia conference in China, one could hear a comparison that practically boils down to "my dad is stronger than your dad." Specifically, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the existing GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics card for laptops is already more powerful than what next-gen consoles will offer at the end of 2020.

Of course, this statement came about because PlayStation 5 and Xbox (Series X) use AMD's architectures, so it's important to undermine the importance of what the competition is doing in this context. Technically speaking, Nvidia may be right about the hardware side, but gaming laptops and gaming consoles are actually pears and apples.

The price of gaming laptops with RTX cards ranges from a thousand euros and more, while the expected price of the next consoles is around 500-700 euros. Of course, laptops are sufficient on their own, while consoles require a television, but this is just another proof that there are two very different things. Another story would be that Nvidia made these claims for their Tegra series of chips, which are also used in the Nintendo Switch console.

In any case, it should be borne in mind that the hardware capability of ninth-generation consoles has not yet been thoroughly demonstrated, so that all the specs about some kind of comparison are already falling into the water.

The new patent for the PlayStation 5 controller shows two additional buttons

If the designs from the approved patent for the new PlayStation controller are to be believed, Sony could include two additional buttons on the controller.

The entry of WIPO, the World Intellectual Property Organization, these days has found a new patent from Sony, where we see the potential appearance of a new controller for the PlayStation 5. I say potential, because this is not the first patent for the so-called. DualShock 5, and some aspects of this aren't quite in sync with what we've seen before. For example, there was a mention of the removal of the light part on top of the controller, which was not confirmed in the last patent. This is why this kind of information is not always reliable, but gives an insight into what the creators of the next PlayStation are thinking about.

If the last patent is to be believed, Sony is considering introducing two additional buttons on the back of the controller. These two buttons very likely should be optional, that is, they can be programmed to "mimic" any other buttons on the controller. For example, if you are uncomfortable with your thumb to press the "mushrooms" for the R3 or L3 keys, it would be possible to transfer them to the back of the controller with this scheme.

The reason why this is not some science fiction lies in the fact that Sony has already announced these two additional buttons - for the DualShock 4 controller. However, for DualShock 4 this will be done through an optional plug-in that is inserted into the controller itself, while this patent shows the integration of additional keys directly on the controller.

Admittedly, this is not at all a patent for the PlayStation 5 controller, but for some revision of the DualShock 4, but in that case it would be doubtful if Sony did such controller revisions a year before the brand new console was released. Either way, we'll probably find out the truth about this in the next few months.

The new Microsoft Edge will be installed to users via Windows Update automatically

Installation will begin January 15 next year when the first final version of Microsoft Edge based on Chromium becomes available

Announcing the new logo for Microsoft Edge from the company announced that the final version of the browser, which is currently in beta, will be officially available from January 15, 2020.

From this date, the new version of Microsoft Edge, based on Chromium, will become the official version available to Windows 10 users, replacing the current one with the operating system.

Replacement of both versions will be done as expected, ie through Windows Update automatically. This means that starting January 15th, the current version of Microsoft Edge will be automatically upgraded to a completely new version based on Chromium code.

This will be Edge's latest automatic upgrade through Windows Update, and all will be done automatically through the browser itself, as is the case with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and others.

This means that Microsoft Edge will now receive more regular updates, more precisely every 6 weeks, as the Chromium code updates, and security updates will be released as needed, immediately.

Microsoft explains that the settings, shortcuts in the Start menu, the desktop, and the taskbar, will be replaced with the new version, and the old one will no longer be enabled and will not be displayed.

If companies, and even some home users, for some reason don't want their new Edge version installed, they can "prevent" it through a tool made available by Microsoft, that is, with the Blocker Toolkit.

Microsoft explains in detail all the changes that will occur at the operating system level with the installation of the new version, so if you are interested you can read about them.

The Galaxy S20 is beginning to be mentioned as a possible name for the next generation of the S series

The chances of this information being shown to be accurate are still low, so you will have to wait for it to be published from multiple sources

All the unofficial information so far, as it always has, regarding the next generation of Samsung's Galaxy S series, has been named Galaxy S11. This is the next issue of last year's Galaxy S10, so it seems logical and probably the name to use.

The famous and often right Ice Universe has announced two short "tweets" announcing the possibility of phones being named Galaxy S20. In one of the posts, he only names the Galaxy S20, and next states "next year is 2020 and 20 is a new beginning".

Although it is the Ice Universe that is considered a credible "leak" of information, yet because this name has been mentioned only once, the possibility remains that it is not certain.

Interestingly, in recent releases the Ice Universe continues to use the name Galaxy S11, so it goes without saying that it is not even sure about the possibility of changing the name.

Otherwise, it wouldn't be so strange for Samsung to decide that the next S-series phones will continue to name the Galaxy S20, S30 and so on. It's already doing something similar to the mid-range A Series, but these phones name more frequent upgrades that use numbers like 31.

There is still some time to wait for the Galaxy S Series to be officially released in 2020, so we will hear more unofficial information as to whether the name change is something to look forward to.

Impressions of The Witcher

New Game of Thrones? Not so fast ...

We didn't know what to expect from The Witcher. We haven't read the books, nor have we played the game. We've seen clips of the game, so we knew there would be monsters and sword fights, and the long-haired, recognizable face. The series was announced as the next Game of Thrones, but whenever a series or movie is announced as the next thing, we're wary. So now.

Not that these two series have anything in common. The Witcher's first three episodes (so it seemed) are full of nudity, extremely bloody violence and power struggles. Something that made GоТ recognizable in the first few seasons (despite repeatedly breaking the hearts of fans by killing their favorite characters).

The story revolves around three characters: Gerilla of Rivière (Henry Cavill), a bounty hunter who travels and earns a living by killing giant spiders and other monsters; she is facing severe tragedies in her family.

Focusing on these three characters, the series often shifts from location to location, also like the GоТ. Sure, their stories will be intertwined in later episodes, but for now it's a bit chaotic to follow this network of creators. Now you will be introduced to the world of Herald (which is by far the most interesting character), the series shifts you to Syria, which we do not care about because it has not been so well-developed in the first few episodes. Jennifer is a pretty interesting character I suspect will have a "Darth Vader" transformation. Actress is also great and you really care about her and you have empathy for what she's going through.

When it comes to acting, Kavil has downloaded Geralt from the video games, from what we can see. The voice, the look, and its dark and sarcastic character create an authentic character that you want to see in as many scenes. In addition, the fight scenes are phenomenal.

The music is great, the acting too. The series looks beautiful, the story is engaging and interesting. The only thing that worries us at the moment is the development of the stories of characters not named Herald and how the story will eventually merge into a whole. The first three episodes were pretty slow in this respect, and there are only five more episodes to go. However, we have the foresight that the creators will reach a satisfactory conclusion to the first season. It seems to us that the series is in the confident hands of knowing what they are doing.

The trailer wasn't promising too much, but The Witcher didn't surprise us with more looks. If you're a fan of fantasy, you're probably on your radar. If you think "it's not for me", give it a chance, you might be surprised.

Instagram will notify users that the title of their post may be considered offensive

The new feature is part of a larger Instagram initiative to combat online bullying and is aided by artificial intelligence

Following the introduction of a similar feature earlier in the year for comments left on posts, now Instagram will begin assessing the captions of images and videos that users post and reporting if they find them to be offensive.

The system works by means of a specially developed machine learning algorithm, which automatically checks the post titles, so that if the post being published by the user is recognized as offensive, the user will be notified.

The notification will inform the user that that type of title has been reported by other users in other situations, so the user may choose to change it. If it does not want to change it, the post can be published in the original way.

According to Instagram, this way users will get a better idea of what is not allowed on their network and that could put their account at risk, or risk being blocked or even deleted.

It is always strange when such rules are introduced on social networks, and especially when the system takes into account what other users have reported. It is well known that many users report something not because it is offensive, but because they do not like it or the person who published it does not like it, so many, though not all, can freely say they are fake.

This feature is released in a limited number of countries, after which it will be released to all users in the months ahead.

Apple is reportedly working on developing its own satellites to connect iPhones and other devices

These satellites could enable Apple devices to be independent of mobile operators and also provide a better map experience from the company

Apple is a company known for wanting to be in control of their ecosystem, that is, for users to make the most of their products if they use not just one product, but more, in combination with their services.

Something that could give Apple devices extra independence is the development of a separate network through which these devices can communicate, no matter what the connection to the Internet, as well as mobile operators.

According to Bloomberg sources, who remain anonymous, Apple is working on developing such a network. It would be made up of its own satellites, currently unknown in numbers, that would allow communication across all Apple devices regardless of the Internet.

Such a connection of devices, according to information, would enable communication and sending of information without the need of the mobile operators, and also states that Apple will be able to more precisely monitor the location of the devices and improve the user experience on their maps.

The project is led by two former employees of Skybox Imaging Company which was acquired by Google in 2014. Their project work has been noted and approved by Tim Cook, and results are expected in the next 5 years.

Given the long period of development left, it can be expected that this project will never be officially launched. This can especially be taken as an option when considering how complex and expensive it is to develop, produce, and launch in orbit satellites.

There is also the possibility of Apple using satellites manufactured and maintained by another company, but that would be resolved if the project reached such a stage that it needed to think about it.

Facebook has removed hundreds of profiles of characters created with artificial intelligence

Facebook profiles of people created using artificial intelligence are being used to support US President Donald Trump and us to convey messages against China. Security experts from Graphika and the Digitial Forensics Research Lab say this is the first time this data has been used with the capacity to misinform social networks, Reuters reports.

The news also confirmed the largest social network, adding that they had removed 610 Facebook profiles, 89 pages, 152 groups and 72 Instagram profiles. The ad group alone spent $ 9 million. As for the topics that are being promoted, these are "hot" political topics, for example impeachment, but also conservative ideology, politicians, elections and the like. The names of some of the groups that are now deleted are: "America Needs President Trump", "TRUMP MAGA 2020", and "WE STAND WITH TRUMP & PENCE!"

The group that now manages the pages and profiles is Beauty of Life and is part of Epoch Times. Epoch tried to deny the news and explain that companies are special and BL is a company of former employees. However, as further evidence, Facebook pointed out that the executives of this company are the administrators of Epoch Times.

The characters used by the group are created with the help of artificial intelligence trained by human images. After completing his studies, artificial intelligence can create characters for people who do not exist and have never seen them before. For now, thanks to bugs around the ears and the background it's easy to see that it's not about people, but in the future as technology improves, images will be more realistic.

Novelty technology company 3Lateral is also featured on the Hellblade 2 sequel

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is one of the most thrilling games in recent years. Behind the game are veterans who have worked on games like Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry. And interesting is the choice of theme that is unique to the world of video games. Game lovers are already excited about the trailer for Hellblade 2, and know that the game is coming out in 2020.

What's usually harder to notice is that the team from the previous game, Novi Sad 3Lateral, is also working with Ninja Theory, Netokracija said.

The Serbian team that worked on the first game since the beginning of this year is part of Epic Games. The company has developed technology for the creation of various digital models and animations. The company at Epic is part of the Unreal Engine.

CD Project value has jumped 21000% in the last ten years

Polish Studio CD Project has become the largest value growth company in Europe in the last ten years.

The success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being written year after year, but by the end of 2019, Bloomberg is transmitting interesting statistics on the value of the Polish studio CD Project. According to a financial estimate, the creators of the Witcher games are currently worth around $ 6.8 billion.

In the last ten years, the value of their shares has thus increased by more than 21,000%, which, according to the Stoxx Europe 600 Index, is the largest increase in the value of a European company ... in all sectors. For CD Project, this is an additional success as the value of the market in their home Poland has decreased by 11% in the last 10 years.

The CD Project's rapid growth could continue in the future. Their upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 is mostly considered to be the most anticipated game of 2020, so if it is of good quality, there is no doubt that the Poles will bathe in money. According to analysts, next year CD Projekt could earn $ 845 million, four times what they earned in 2015.

Batman: The Video Game - Danced with the devil in the pale moonlight

Today, exactly thirty years ago, we got an adaptation of the movie Batman on the first Nintendo console.

Back in the late 1980s, it was known that games made using a movie template were usually not of high quality. The infamous E.T. the game was a warning to the entire video game industry, but weak products continued to come with titles such as Top Gun, Jaws, Ghostbusters, Karate Kid, and numerous others. Some of us don't remember these games as bad, but that's mostly because we didn't know better then. Fortunately, there were exceptions, one of them being Batman: The Video Game, which came out exactly 30 years ago for the NES console.

Batman: The Video Game was a two-dimensional action title that combined platformer and action elements. It was based on Tim Burton's movie from the same year, but we still didn't fully follow the story of the movie adaptation. The game only gave us a tentative plot: The Joker has poisoned Gotham City, and Batman seeks to defeat him to avenge his parents' murder. And that's all. The end of the game was similar to the end of the movie, except for Batman killing the Joker here.

The game had five levels in total: Gotham streets, a chemical factory, a sewer, the Joker's lab, and a cathedral. Each level had a final boss battle, and among the bosses were Killer Moth, Electrocutioner, Firebug and Joker. Deadshot could also be encountered in the game. In addition to his fists, Batman could use an arsenal of several weapons, including a gun, a harpoon and a boomerang. In addition, he had the ability to jump on walls.

The game has received very good reactions from players and critics and has become one of the best superhero games for the NES console. For many, this was also the best Batman game for many. Fans of retro sound in games also point out that Batman: The Video Game had one of the best 8-bit soundtracks ever made.

The weight of the game remained in memory. There was no weight picking in Batman, no resumption of play after Game Over. Personally, I only managed to get to the fifth level at one time. The second level that required precise jumping was problematic for me.

Later, this Batman also got a version for the Sega Mega Drive console, but it was significantly different from the NES and contained different enemies, the levels were different, and there were some new stocks like driving a Batmobile down the streets of Gotham.

Epic Games Store shares 12 games for free, hot Superhot today

The Epic Games Store presents as many as 12 games to its customers one at a time. As before, there are plenty of quality indie titles out there.

If you're not looking at the Epic Games Store, you'll be able to download 12 more games for free by the end of the year. Starting today, Epic will be sharing one game each day. It is not known yet what all the games will be distributed, but judging by how they started, they will not give away games they have already shared during 2019.

Today's free game is the 2016 Superhot shooter. For those who don't know, it's a very specific type of shooter where time only moves when the player moves. Three years ago, our reviewer resented her short duration, and this should not be a major objection to you when you get it for free.

Yesterday the famous multiplayer title Towerfall Ascension was distributed for free. It is a retro style arcade game played in local multiplayer. In regular sales, it costs € 15 and also has very positive reviews.

On Thursday, the indie title Into the Breach was available on the list. This is a significant hit from 2018, which was also nominated for Golden Beaver, and although it looks a bit archaic, it is an extremely addictive game of strategic genre that has a very high average rating - 90 on Metacritic and 93% positive on Steam.

In addition to free games, the Epic Games Store also has a holiday campaign by the end of the year where a number of exclusive platforms can be found at discounted prices. They also share a € 10 coupon that can be spent on games costing € 15 or more. For example, you could get The Division 2 for five euros, which is a crazy price for one of the better games this year. And for every purchase of a game of € 15 or more, you get another $ 10 coupon. Which means if you buy The Division 2 for five euros, for example another five euros you can get Assassin's Creed Origins, Watch Dogs 2 or The Crew 2.

BoxVR has received a major update, it still doesn't look like real boxing

This year's PlayStation VR boxing game has received a major upgrade, but it still looks a bit empty to us.

Boxing is almost therefore the ideal sport for virtual reality. Just imagine if EA Sports decided to revive the Knockout Kings or Fight Night series right in VR, it would have potential. However, the market is ultimately left to compromise experiences, and one such is BoxVR, a game that came out earlier in 2019 and went relatively unnoticed.

BoxVR is not a game like Creed VR, in which you fight other boxers. Instead, here in Beat Saber style you hit the air with the rhythm of the music. The idea is not bad for exercise, but that is about all that is offered. However, if rhythmic boxing is your acorn, you might be interested in the fact that the game has received new content these days in the form of 12 choreographed exercises (supposedly done by real fitness instructors) and 40 new compositions that run through rock, metal, electro and other music genres.

It was finally revealed what Silent Hills looked like outside the house from P.T.

Modder Lance McDonald managed to get the streets of the city from which we would never walk out of the Silent Hills demo.

Silent Hills is a late game, but Koima's demo work called P.T. it has inspired and intrigued many. The fan community of this unique horror has come up with some valuable insights and inventions this year, with the latest recently introduced by fashion designer Lance McDonald, who opened the streets of Silent Hills to explore, Eurogamer reports.

He managed to do this by cheating a game that would otherwise penalize a player by crashing through the floor if he went beyond the allowed limits of the map. In doing so, he was able to provide insight into unprecedented parts of Silent Hills that include a parking lot, an apartment block, a deserted street and a passage leading to nothingness.

Of course, nothing happens in Silent Hills and all models are of lower quality for one very obvious reason - it was never imagined that players would look at this part of the map. All the same, it is interesting to see at least a fraction of what was imagined and never will be realized. As we all know, Silent Hills was eventually canceled and we would never play that game.

The SoulKeeper: Chronicles is a dark, three-campaign RPG

The SoulKeeper: Chronicles has been announced, an open-world RPG in which we will have three separate campaigns with different characters in each.

A video game about LEGO dice came out, it seems like it's really fun

Who would say that stacking Lego dice can make an interesting puzzle adventure in virtual form?

Once upon a time, long before Minecraft, Lego Creator was played on PC - a game where the world was made up of famous Lego dice. The game was not particularly successful, but Legions have kept themselves in the video game world through adaptations of movie hits. There were attempts to gain popularity with Lego Dimensions and Lego Worlds, but these games remained in the shadow of some other titles.

Fortunately, stacking Lego dice does not have to be just a creative process, and the creators of the mobile game LEGO Builder's Journey have realized this. It has been available on Apple's Arcade subscription and iOS platform since yesterday, and it brings an interesting premise - a puzzle game in which, by stacking Lego dice, we make way for the main character.

The rules of stacking and movement are immediately clear to anyone who has ever lied to Legic, and the trick is that each level has a limited number of dice to redeem. This means that you have to re-arrange some of the dice after they are left behind.

Unfortunately, all games that come out on Apple Arcade are exclusive, which means we can't play them on Android devices for a while. There is hope that Lego Builder's Journey will appear on PC, but there is currently no indication.

A short-lived MediEvil demo is back

If you were unable to try the time-bound demo version of MediEvil's rework, you can now correct it because the demo is available - hopefully, permanently.

This fall, the reworking of the cult MediEville could be tried through the so-called Short-lived demo. As the demo was only available for a week, many were unable to play it before the game was released. But Sony has now decided to release the same demo, apparently without any time limit.

More specifically, it's not the same demo version as it was three months ago - this one has an extra level, so you can play the Hilltop Mausoleum and fight the first boss in the game there. If you like the game, it's good to know that it's a small discount these days and costs £ 149 on the PlayStation Store.

MediEvil is not a very modern game, despite its appearance, but if you loved the original, this is a worthy rework, which you can see through the demo version, which can also be played in the Croatian language.

The Star Wars saga is not over until we get the accompanying LEGO Star Wars game!

Warner Bros. Publishing House Interactive reminded Star Wars fans that the Skywalker saga doesn't just end in theaters - we'll be able to play it next year.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order offered us a solid dose of action in the Star Wars world, but it didn't have much to do with famous films. This will not be the case with the next Star Wars game, the one in the form of LEGO dice. Warner Bros. Publishing House Interactive on the premiere of the new movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker reminded us that the accompanying video game is coming in 2020, and for the first time we saw some footage from The Last Jedi and the aforementioned Rise of Skywalker, which have not yet had their adaptations in the virtual form.

As we learned earlier this year, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is much more than a collection of all the Lego Star Wars games so far. All the episodes are made from the ground up, with a new camera, with full-featured dialogs, new graphics and gameplay mechanics. The game will feature the adventures of all nine films and whatever you think of the LEGO series, you have to admit that sounds like a great deal.

Google has purchased its first game development studio

Today, Stadia Games and Entertainment is richer for a new studio, one that has not launched any games so far.

Google currently has one studio internally developing games for their Stadia platform. By comparison, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have dozens of development studios under their wing. Google is also looking for a business model, and the first step towards this is to buy the Typhoon Studios team.

Who are you now, you wonder?

This is a team led by Alex Hutchinson, game director of Assassin's Creed III and Far Cry 4. They haven't launched a single title so far, but that will change in early 2020 when their Journey to the Savage Planet space adventure comes out. Google has said that the team's plans do not change after this acquisition and that the game will continue to be launched on various platforms, including the Stage.

Google's Jade Raymond, who used to be with Hutchinson in Ubisoft, played a big role in the negotiations over the takeover of Typhoon Studios. It is not known for what amount they "sold", but given that it is a young studio that has not yet proven its expertise, it is probably a real trifle for Google.

Another Resident Evil is in development, Capcom has invited players for testing

Although they have their hands full with Resident Evil 3 remake, Capcom is already working on a new game for its successful horror series.

As we have recently heard, the games from the Resident Evil series have sold over 94 million copies so far. The remake of Resident Evil 2 is competing for the best game of 2019, and it's clear that Capcom is looking to continue its successful streak. They have already announced the revision of Resident Evil 3, but they appear to have at least one other Resident Evil in development.

This unofficial information came from Reddit, where a member of the Resident Evil Ambassadors program shared his invitation to test an unannounced game. While it is possible that this is an attempt to spread the falsehood, there is a greater chance that the matter is actually true. Firstly, Capcom has similarly called on the "ambassadors" to test the Resident Evil 3 multiplayer component, and secondly - we are sure that it is planning Resident Evil 8 as the first "new" Resi after three years.

The previous Resident Evil (7) is close to 7 million units sold, a success that Capcom initially did not expect. According to recent statistics, about one million players have played this Resident Evil in VR mode, which is also not a negligible figure.

Take a look at the gameplay Half-Life: Alyx - there are swinging, bending and finger exercises

Valve has the difficult task of designing a single game for multiple VR headsets. Here's how to handle this task.

Since the new Half-Life game, we have only seen one impressive trailer so far. However, few journalists these days had the opportunity to visit the offices of Valve where they could witness the process of preparing the game for different types of VR headsets. On this occasion, we also got the first concrete insight into gameplay, which involves only movement (both via teleport and automation), case management, shooting and the ammunition loading process.

The demo video goes into detail and lasts for half an hour, but you can also see the "leaps" to see what kind of mechanics will be used in the game, how much precision the player will require and what moves we will take to win the battle against enemies in the world half-Life. You can also see some of the trade-offs that certain VR devices will need to agree to. Not all VR devices have the same capabilities, and it's difficult to design a game across a range of different platforms, but it seems like Valve has done a solid job of customizing the game for different devices.

Endzone- A World Apart brings a post-apocalyptic version of SimCity

It's not easy being a mayor, and it's even harder to be a mayor after the apocalypse. Still, the construction gameplay of the post-apocalyptic title Endzone - A World Apart seems like interesting fun.

Xbox Game Pass continues to evolve on PC, Microsoft is looking for your suggestions

Microsoft has reminded users of the Xbox app for Windows 10 that they have made some significant changes in the functionality of the app over the past six months.

The Xbox Game Pass debuted on the PC platform in beta in mid-year. Microsoft is still keeping it in beta and asking users to send them suggestions and reporting issues, and yesterday they decided to present the progress they made with the help of user feedback. Sometimes these innovations are harder to spot because the process of updating an application for the Xbox Game Pass is quite silent and invisible, but it's nice to know that there are some useful options now.

For example, you can now order the download of a game on your computer via a mobile application. While searching the catalog, it is possible to filter games so that you only see single-player titles, titles with cross-play or split-screen, etc. It is also possible to place a default installation folder on a secondary disk partition or other disk. These things may seem like something that should have been available immediately after the app appeared, but if you've used the past Xbox app for Windows 10, then you're probably aware that this is a big improvement as well.

Star Wars: The Old Republic - The most expensive Star Wars game ever made

To date, eight years ago, one of the most expensive projects in the video game industry was launched. Star Wars: The Old Republic should have been the chosen game to bring balance to the Force.

The Star Wars franchise had two MMORPG games, of which only one is live, and it was launched eight years ago today. Star Wars: The Old Republic is a sequel to KOTOR games that were single-player RPGs and one of the largest, or most expensive, projects in the video game industry. It was made at a time when EA was not licensed for Star Wars, and about two hundred million dollars went into the project, not counting the budget for the promotion of the game.

Star Wars: TOR was heralded by lavish trailers that at times looked better than Star Wars movies episodes 1-3, and the added reason was the fact that SW: TOR was conceived as the first MMORPG with full-featured dialogues. Over 200,000 lines of text were recorded for the game, setting the Guinness record of that time.

The game was launched according to the then current model, with a monthly subscription of 15 euros. The initial interest of players promised big things - more than a million people played SW: TOR in the first week after the game was released, making it the fastest-growing MMO title in history. However, the onslaught brought problems with the overcrowded servers, and the game content was not sufficient to keep players engaged for long.

The number of active subscribers declined rapidly from month to month until EA decided to switch the game to a free-to-play model. Since then, SW: TOR has been capturing a solid community of players, though it has not fulfilled the prophecy that it is the MMO that will bring down the famous World of Warcraft.

The game has received a total of seven expansions to date, and we last saw it in the tenth month of this year. Given that EA currently holds a Star Wars license, it is expected that development on SW: TOR will continue, but the question is whether this game can survive for more than a decade.
