2K Games has shown the first concrete footage from the NBA 2K21 for the PlayStation 5 console. It looks nice, but is it "that your jaw falls off" as they announce?
Igor's mail made me laugh a good hour ago. He says that the first display of the next-gen gameplay from NBA 2K21 arrives today at 4 pm, but be careful - they describe it as "jaw-dropping", so be sure that your lower jaw has support. And here, that trailer arrived, to the fear and trembling of all jaws.
The NBA 2K21 in the PlayStation 5 version looks nice. High-resolution textures are used by basketball players and surrounding players, there are a lot of people on the field and of course - sweaty bodies are sweaty, more than ever before! So, it looks nice, but that's just part of the story - it remains to be seen if we have made any progress in the game in gameplay, mods, etc.
Activision reminds Call of Duty fans that they will be able to try out the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War this month.
As previously announced, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have several tests before its release in November. As usual, players on the PlayStation 4 platform will have the advantage of trying out the game because Activision and Sony have an agreed partnership, but it is worth noting that everyone will get a chance to play the game at least once.
The schedule is as follows:
8 - 9. 10 - on PlayStation 4 beta test for preorder audience
10 - 12.10 - Open testing for all players on PlayStation 4
15 - 16. 10 - on XBO and PC beta test for preorder, PS4 open beta
17 - 19.10 - open testing for all platforms, with cross-play
As can be seen in the next trailer, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed and VIP Escort modes will be available in beta.
The coronavirus pandemic has a devastating impact on the film industry, so film studies are delaying the release of big movie hits.
While the video game industry is functioning surprisingly well during a pandemic, and is making more money than ever before, the film industry is in disarray. The best example of this is the recent summer hit Tenet, which was extremely expensive to shoot, and due to the relatively low response of viewers to the cinema, the film failed to make a profit even two months later.
Thanks to the example of Tenet, more and more studios are postponing the premieres of their films for some better times. Recently, the 25th James Bond film was postponed to the spring of 2021, and now the postponement has hit the most anticipated film of the year - Dune, directed by Dennis Villeneuve. Instead of December 18 this year, Dune will go to the cinema only on October 1, 2021.
Warner Bros. has confirmed an avalanche of other delays after Dune. Among them is The Batman, which was scheduled just for the day Dune is now arriving. New Batman adventures will thus have to wait until 2022. The films The Flash and Shazam 2 will also be delayed.
But there is an exception. Matrix 4 has not moved into some distant future but quite the opposite - it will come before it was announced. Instead of 2022, Matrix 4 will hit theaters on December 22, 2021. If not all theaters fail by then, all movie screenings will move to Fortnite.
The rumors have been officially confirmed - Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit from 2010 will get a remaster edition next month.
What has been rumored for the last three months will come true - the 2010 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will get its remaster. Today, Electronic Arts finally announced Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
As this is a remaster, one should not expect too much. The graphics will be slightly improved with sharper textures and more effects, but it is still visible that this is a game of the now pre-previous generation. However, one thing will get better - multiplayer will be shared among all platforms so players from all four platforms will fight for the best times.
The remastered edition will also feature all the DLC content for Hot Pursuit with over 30 additional challenges versus the old release.
NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered will be released on November 6, 2020 for PC, PS4 and XBO, and on November 13 for Nintendo Switch. The Switch version will go at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second. The PS4 / XBO consoles will go up to 4K resolution at 30 fps, or 60 fps for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X models.
Ghost of Tshusima will receive an update to version 1.1 next week, which includes New Game + mode and a cooperative add-on called Legends.
Before launching new games and a new generation of PlayStation, Sony plans to upgrade one of the better games of 2020 next week - Ghost of Tsushimu. Namely, it was announced that on October 16, this game gets its big update of version 1.1, and as part of it comes the cooperative mode Legends for 2-4 players.
In Legends, which will be free for all Ghost of Tsushima owners, we will be able to play missions with a story in pairs (two players) and a survival mode in four, as well as a raid (also 4 players). Each player will play a specific class of samurai, and the powers of the fighters, as well as their opponents, will be closely tied to the elements of fantasy.
In addition to Legends mode, update 1.1 also brings a New Game + option for those who want to embark on the transition again. In this mode, the game starts after the tutorial section, and Jin is unlocked with all the skills from the previous transition. There will also be a new horse and additional items in the game. A new type of flower will also be available: Ghost Flower, which will be able to be changed for specific colors of armor and equipment.
One of the nice new things will be quickly putting on armor sets, which means players will be able to change multiple armor sets faster without having to change each piece of armor individually.
One of the first games for the PlayStation 5 console will also be the "always online" title, so you will have to be connected to the Internet even if you play the game yourself.
The upcoming action game Godfall has already raised a lot of dust - first because of its graphics and desire to emphasize that it is a "next-gen exclusive", and then the price at which it will be sold. Namely, Godfall arrives on PC (Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5 and will graphically be the same game on both platforms. But the PC version will cost € 60, while the PlayStation 5 version will cost € 80 (+ PS Plus subscription).
Regardless of those prices, it was recently revealed that the game will be one of those that require players to be connected to the internet in order to play. It would not be disputable if it was about the so-called a live service game or some sort of MMO. But it is controversial because Godfall is not a game by service model and can be played without other players, just not without the internet.
Many were bothered by such a decision, so they expressed their dissatisfaction on various online platforms. And while some argue that this is not a problem because our consoles are connected to the internet all the time today anyway, others point out that this could mean death to the game if the developer one day decides to shut down servers and not allow offline gaming. And such a risk is by no means in favor of a game that costs 80+ euros.
Three years after the initial announcement, the makers of the Payday 3 game have confirmed that it is still being worked on and have revealed which driver they will use.
The third part of the successful Payday series was announced back in 2017. That was before Starbreeze got into financial trouble, so last year they said they couldn't guarantee that Payday 3 would come out, but if things match up, we might play it in 2022 or 2023.
Now, through the official Twitter profile for Payday 2, they have confirmed that the game is officially in the design phase and that it will use Unreal Engine. It is not known which versions, but it is possible that this is the latest release since they are aimed at the future.
In any case, the release of this engine information is not entirely accidental when it comes to Starbreeze. They had the aforementioned troubles precisely because they were developing their own mover for the game Overkill’s The Walking Dead, which proved to be an expensive, complicated and ultimately a failed project. By using Unreal Engine they have the finished thing at their disposal so we know at least that the technical part should not be a stumbling block for Payday 3.
Japanese journalists published their impressions of the PlayStation 5 console and its controller and revealed several new details that we did not know until now.
I don’t know how cool it is for the Japanese to post new information about the PlayStation 5 on Sundays, of all days, but it happened yesterday. Several Japanese publications were given an exclusive opportunity to hang out with Sony's new console and were the first in the world to share their impressions of it.
Surprisingly, we didn’t learn much that wasn’t already known before. Perhaps the most important information is the one that everyone agrees on - the console is very quiet in operation. Huge, but quiet. This is significant because the PlayStation 4 (Pro) can sometimes sound like a vacuum cleaner on a loudspeaker.
Other new information is related to the Dualsense controller. Namely, it has been confirmed that a small light, ie a lamp, will light up under the touchpad space. It will also be an indicator of the (ordinal) number of controllers according to the number of lights, up to a maximum of four. So if the player is playing alone, one light in the middle will light up on the controller. In case multiple controllers are connected to the console at the same time, in order to play something in the local multiplayer, two lights will light up on the controller for the second controller in a row, three for the third and four for the fourth. Nice thing, especially since the light is subtle and not as conspicuous as on the PlayStation 4 controller.
One big change for the controller has also been confirmed, but it doesn’t involve us but the Japanese. Namely, after 25 years of PlayStation, in Japan, the O key will no longer be used for acceptance in menus, and X for cancellation. With us, of course, it is the other way around, and so it will now be for all markets, to the shock and disbelief of the Japanese.
Journalists and influencers were not allowed to record the interface of the console itself or use the Share button so this still remains unknown - almost a month before the launch of the console. On the examples of the games Godfall and Astro’s Playroom they managed to see the loading speed of the game after the game overs in them and that part justified the hype - it really loads pretty fast. Although - it's just two games and downloads within the game. I'm more interested in launching the game from the menu in 2 seconds - they haven't shown it yet.
