Hitman is shutting down multiplayer servers, but there will be new modes as well

IO Interactive has revealed what awaits us in Hitman 3 in terms of game modes. At the same time, the shutdown of Hitman's multiplayer was announced.

Hitman 2 has for the first time introduced competitive multiplayer in the Hitman series through so-called Ghost Mode. In the same, two players could compete in eliminating targets and sabotage each other's work. The mod was innovative, but it doesn't seem to have met with much interest from players. It has therefore been announced that the servers for Ghost Mode will be shut down on the 31st of this month. This means that Ghost Mode will not be in Hitman 3 either.

Fortunately, all other mods are still in the plans for Hitman 3. In addition to the main campaign, the Elusive Targets mode will return, with some novelties that we will learn more about later in the year. There will also be an Escalations mode with additional weight settings, such as restrictions on disguise, etc. The Contracts mode will still be the same, with its own set of rules and tasks that can be shared among players and scored on the top ladder.

Finally, Sniper Assassin mode will be played again, but only in single-player mode. Servers for cooperative gaming of the same mode in Hitman 2 will be shut down before the release of Hitman 3.
