Buyers of a physical copy of Marvel’s Avengers will have to undergo a robust 18-gigabyte patch before playing.
The upcoming Marvel’s Avengers will be one of the bigger games - at least as far as installation goes. It is mentioned that the game will weigh about 90 gigabytes, which is not at the level of a Call of Duty, but is still at the very top in terms of disk space. This means that approximately as much will have to be downloaded from the internet if a digital version of the game is purchased. However, the owners of the physical copy will not be spared from the removal.
Namely, it was announced that Marvel’s Avengers will receive an update on the first day that will weigh around 18 GB. An update will be required to run the game, regardless of whether you plan to play it alone or in online multiplayer.
While the good news is that some updates to player feedback based on beta testing will be found as part of this update, there seems to be the most localization files in those 18 gigabytes. Namely, the game supports 15 different languages and that part takes up a lot of space. The developers, on the other hand, blame the situation with the coronavirus because, due to work from home, they did not manage to insert all the updates they planned to implement before launch.
