The new Call of Duty will be presented in the "old" Call of Duty

You know how Fortnite was often used as a platform for some big in-game announcements and concerts? Activision now seems to be thinking similarly about its Call of Duty: Warzone.

A few months ago, we learned that the next big Call of Duty game will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but the game has not yet been officially unveiled. This official revelation seems to be coming soon, but not through the usual marketing channels.

Activision proudly announced yesterday that their Call of Duty: Warzone gathers over 75 million players and gave a clear indication that they plan to use this battle royal title as a platform for announcing the next Call of Duty game, ie Black Ops Cold War.

Indeed, Warzone players have already stumbled upon certain carefully planted easter egos on the map of that battle royale that show hints of Cold War elements, such as an old spy plane and locked bunkers. Does this mean that the Warzone map will change completely at the time of the announcement of the new Black Ops title? Does this mean that Warzone will generally be a kind of platform that will change thematically to keep up with the release of new premium Call of Duty games? We don't know anything for sure yet, but all the treasures point to just such a model.

It should be noted that the popular Warzone is currently thematically following the current Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. Indeed, Modern Warfare and Warzone share the same Battle Pass as well as the same loadouts. Since the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series have never overlapped thematically, it will be interesting to see how Activision approaches the announcement, that is, the integration of the new Black Ops title into the game originally created on the basis of Modern Warfare.

Anyway Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War should come out before the end of this year, and the game’s announcement itself should happen soon.
