Horizon Zero Dawn for PC isn’t exactly an ideal port, but developers are working on it

If you were looking forward to the PC release of Horizon Zero Dawn, it might be wise to wait a bit with the purchase. The technical problems some players face are irritating.

A game where you hunt robosaurs and not ARK? Horizon Zero Dawn of course!

The long-awaited PC version of this previous PlayStation 4 exclusive received some negative comments after the first few days on the market, aimed at poor optimization. On Steam, the game currently has "Mixed" ratings, and a quick look at user reviews makes it clear that most say it's a good game, but a bad PC port.

Problems in the PC version are manifested by poor performance on quite good hardware, especially when entering and exiting the cutscene, but also by frequent crashes of the game on the computers of some players. Problems of this kind don’t affect everyone so while some enjoy the game with no problems, others can’t get a quiet framerate even on beastly machines with RTX 2080 Ti cards.

Studio Guerrilla Games confirmed that they are aware of the problem and said they are investigating all the reports that players send them. They did not say when we could see the next update that could solve such problems, but they said it was their "highest priority" at the moment.
