The EA Sports development studio has demonstrated to us what the main career mode will look like in the upcoming UFC 4 fighting game.
One of the big changes in the upcoming UFC 4 will be that the game unlike the previous parts will not have Ultimate Team mode. EA Sports explained that the team aspect doesn't make much sense in a sport like MMA where each fighter fights individually. That’s why this year they’ve put the focus back on a career mode in which we’ll experience the rise of our fighter from a total amateur to a UFC star.
Along the way, the players will be assisted by coach Davis, with whom all training sessions in the game will be interactive and will have a kind of story. The central part of the career will be a system called Fighter Evolution, which will monitor the progress of the fighter according to the chosen style of fighting (eg boxer, wrestler, jiu-jitsu master, etc.). With the help of so-called Evolution points will be purchased for special moves and upgrades for the character.
The system of relations between fighters, fans and sponsors is also new. Through social platforms we will be able to challenge our rivals, and fighters with whom we have a good relationship we will be able to invite to a sparring match to learn some of their moves. But injuries will need to be looked out for as some will be able to greatly shorten a fighter’s career.
UFC 4 is coming out Aug. 14 for P layStation 4 and Xbox One.
