The original Psychonauts was a wacky game, and the sequel will, judging by the trailer shown, try to surpass it in every way.
The new show of Psychonauts 2 as part of the Xbox Games Showcase has raised the anticipation of the sequel to the point of incandescence. The trailer itself follows the protagonist Razputin Aquato in passing through an unprecedented, extremely psychedelic level of the game.
It is essentially a level located in a brain without a body, where the goal is to unlock its senses which are expressed by colorful heads, floating eyes, hands coming out of walls and all sorts of strange animals and plants. The creators definitely do not lack imagination, and we would not be surprised if a generous amount of mushrooms participated in the creation of this level.
In addition, several interesting gameplay mechanics are visible in the trailer. Raz within platformer as well as combat segments of the game can freeze opponents or parts of the environment. The level shown is additionally spiced with a segment in which for some reason he has to drive a bus, and there is a visible indication of a fight against a giant boss opponent.
