Fortnite has finally come out of early access

The PvE component of the mega-popular Fortnite has finally come out of the early access phase. And almost nothing has changed with that.

When the name Fortnite is mentioned, it refers to Fortnite Battle Royale, a mode that is free and played by millions of players. But Fortnite was originally born on the idea of PvE mode which was later renamed Fortnite Save the World. That part of the game paid off and was launched in 2017 in the early access phase (almost six years after it was already in development).

Save the World mod fell into the shadow of Battle Royale, but Epic Games did not stop working on it. In fact, they announced yesterday that the game has officially come out of the early access phase, which means that this tag is now being removed from both Battle Royale and Creative mods.

Not much has changed now that Fortnite Save the World is no longer in early access. It will still be a "premium" experience, not free-to-play. However, seasonal expeditions called Ventures are being introduced, and new cosmetic items are arriving. In short, even though the game is now out of active development, that doesn’t mean the content for it will stop coming.
