You thought Kingdoms of Amalur: ReReckoning was the worst name for a remaster? We have competition, you wouldn’t believe it.
The 2003 3D platformer Asterix & Obelix XXL will get its remaster on October 22, 2020. Better graphics with reworked animations, a new camera system, two additional mods and original voice acting are promised. But it is not that this news will arouse interest among a large number of players. I am writing it solely because of its humorous title: Asterix & Obelix: Romastered. In fact, you decide for yourself how humorous it is.
Romastered just continues the trend of creatively naming remasters. SpongeBob remaster was “Rehydrated”, Warcraft 3 was called “Reforged, Spyro was“ Reignited ”, upcoming Kingdoms of Amalur remaster was“ ReReckoning ”, Observer was System Redux, and now we have… Romastered, because the game takes place in the Roman Empire , pa Roma… stered.
I mean, it could hardly have been worse than Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 or Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition, but again… Romastered, really? I hope Crysis: Remastered was postponed so they could call it Crysis: Maximum Remaster Engaged.
