The second season of The Witcher series will pay tribute to the CD Project video games

The director of the Netflix series The Witcher has confirmed that she will have a few hidden details for fans of Witcher games in the second season.

As is already well known, Netflix's series The Witcher is not based on the eponymous video game series of the Polish company CD Projekt but on novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. But some links are obvious, for example in Geralt’s voice which cannot be heard in books, and in the series it is quite similar to how Geralt sounds in games.

The fact that the video game series is ultimately more popular than the novels themselves has not bypassed Netflix series director Lauren S. Hissrich, so she said in a recent interview that she will include numerous references to CD Project video games in the second season.

“We know that a huge part of our audience has heard of Witcher only because of video games. That is why we want to honor these games as often as possible. I visited the RED Project CD, met talented people who do an amazing job there. So if we can give them a little wink when the opportunity arises, we will. ” Said Hissrich.

The second season of The Witcher is still far from over. Filming of the series has been suspended due to the threat of infection with Covid 19, and work on the set is scheduled to resume on August 17 this year.
