Matrix 4 officially approved, Keanu returns to his career role
Variety Portal reports that Warner Bros Pictures gets the green light to shoot another movie in the Matrix series.
It was pretty likely that the Matrix franchise would return one day, and as Variety reports, it will happen sometime in the next decade. Specifically, the Matrix 4 has officially been given the "green light" and it has been confirmed that the franchise will return to Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss to reprise the roles of Neo and Trinity.
As far as directing and scripting are concerned, the Wachowski brothers are not coming back; this is technically impossible now, but one sister is returning - Lana Wachowski. She will direct the film, while Alexander Hemon and David Mitchel will co-write the screenplay. According to unofficial information, production begins in 2020.
The Matrix is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary and this is a great gift for fans.
