Cult characters Aladdin and The Lion King will get their remasters

After reviving Aladina and Simbu through new movies, Disney will do the same in the video game world where remakes of the cult platformers of the 90s await us.

Gamers who grew up in the 1990s remember the Aladdin and The Lion King games we had the opportunity to play on NES, SNES and Sega Mega Drive consoles. As is usually the case lately, a portion of nostalgia is coming to us, because these two games should get their remasers this fall. Specifically, at a GameStop retailer conference, someone sneakily snapped an announcement of this remaster collection, revealing that it is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

If this is true information, and chances are good that this is true, the Disney Aladdin and Lion King Collection could serve as the first in a series of potential remaster collections. During the 1990s, their franchises had great platformers such as The Jungle Book, Tarzan and Toy Story. Given the success of Crash Bandicoot and Spyr, surely someone at Disney wondered why they wouldn't revive their catalog of once-loved games, either.

It is rumored that as of tomorrow we should be able to sign up for remasers of these games, and the remasers are said to be based on Mega Drive / SNES versions of the games released in 1993 and 1994. Nostalgic fans will also be pleased to hear that both games will feature original soundtrack or original music.
