Check this out - they are now delaying the testing of Star Citizens as well

Star Citizen and delays are slowly becoming synonymous as the anticipated beta testing of Squadron 42 requires more patience for players - three additional months to be exact.

Squadron 42, a singleplayer component within Star Citizen for which a number of Hollywood actors have been hired, will not get into the hands of the flyer within the originally scheduled timeline. Specifically, although beta testing of that component was scheduled to take place in the second quarter of 2020, it was postponed by an additional 12 weeks due to a "redistributed" development.

Although the delays are no longer surprising to Star Citizen, the new development mode means six-month cycles instead of the current three, which again means developing more features with fewer bugs, and still leaving out quarterly updates.

Considering how long a single player player campaign is waiting for, three months does not sound like too much of a delay, but that doesn't mean there won't be any new delays. The next major development step is version 4.0, but for more details, they will have to wait before they are fully revealed.
