Fallout 76 will be free on Steam to anyone with a game on Bethesda Launcher

There was little hope that something playful could come out of Fallout 76 after a year and a half. The main hope for this will be a free Wastelanders extension that brings NPC characters to the game. On the day of this expansion, the game will go on sale on Steam as well, with Bethesda cheering on existing game users who already wanted to give it up, like me.

Specifically, the version on Steam will be free to anyone who already has a game on Bethesda's account, or launcher. However, it should be emphasized that this will not be the case all the time but it is a temporary offer. To get Fallout 76 on Steam for free, you need to link your Bethesda account on this page no later than 12 April.

This applies only to PC players - if you have a game on the console, you can't get the Steam version without paying.

Now, the catch is that switching to Steam cannot transfer the game's currency, Atoms, or active subscription to Fallout 1st. Fortunately, everything else can be passed on, including the progress made in the game. Cross-play will be enabled for both PC versions.

If you are buying the game for the first time, you will receive a Fallout 76 Collection on Steam from 14th to 28th April with a Fallout Classic Collection, featuring the first two Fallout Tactics Fallout games.
