League of Legends is the most influential in first quarter 2020 esports game

The free title of Riot Games is the fourth most consecutive quarter on top of the most influential esport video games on the PC platform.

The Esport Observer has released a list of the most influential esport video games on the PC platform for the first quarter of this year. Although the coronavirus pandemic has stopped all sports in the world, this is not the case with esports. Admittedly, esportsmen cannot play in front of an audience, but they can still compete in online tournaments.

League of Legends maintained its place at the top of the rankings for the fourth quarter in a row. The game had three times as many players as runner-up Counter Strike: Global Offensive and was the most watched on Twitch. Regional LoL competitions have contributed to this effect since they started during the first month and have recently ended. DOTA 2 came in third, while Rainbow Six: Siege broke into fourth. All these four games thus make the top esport titles in the first quarter of 2020.

Fortnite has retained fifth place and leads second-class esports games. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare made the biggest jump in the center, breaking to sixth. PUBG has dropped out of the top tier and is now in seventh position. Rocket League, Hearthstone, StarCraft II and Magic: The Gathering Arena secured their place in this class.

FIFA 20, Overwatch, Warcraft 3 Reforged and World of Warcraft had the least impact on PC audiences in the form of esports games. Warcraft 3 had a few smaller competitions that helped it stand up by 11 places. These four games make third-party esports titles, but we must not be fooled - everyone on the table is crippled by better statistics due to COVID-19 infestation.
