Overwatch professional players kicked in the game and received big fines
Two famous Overwatch players have been fined directly by Blizzard for inappropriately expressing themselves in a public chat.
Until recently, the umbrella esports competition in Overwatch in 2020 had no cases of player punishment. However, a somewhat bizarre case happened yesterday that two famous players were fined for inappropriately texting during a public broadcast on YouTube.
Jung-Won “Lastro” Mun from the Los Angeles Valiant team and Dong-Jun “Rascal” Kim from San Francisco Shock jokingly wrote “sex” and “big dick” as elementary school kids. What they did not know for some reason was that their release was not private but was recorded in a live public broadcast.
Blizzard did not care that the forgiveness was a joke and a misunderstanding. Both players were fined US $ 1,000. However, they actually did well, because there were no other sanctions - they were not suspended so they can participate in the next matches.
One of the players later apologized for his behavior, claiming that he should not have joked that way and that he would do his best to never do it again.
